I've liked all of Bioware's games so far, but this is just stupid. Out of all my friends I'm the only one who even likes Dragon Age, and having to share it every day is incredibly pointless.

God EA... sure this isn't as bad as your other marketing stunts... but it is just that, a Marketing stunt.

Hell I am going to buy your game, so stop telling me I can't have all of it unless I do your marketing for you.

You know what, this just puts me off the game... so its working counter to what you want.

At this point I am more worried about the one year development cycle they seem to be giving their games (Dragon Age 2, Mass Effect 2, Mass Effect 3), spreading their team thin (various DLC projects WHILE working on the game) than the marketing ploys they seem to employ.
All three games have/had a rough 2 year development cycle. DA2 was in development for months before DAO was even released, due to the time needed for the console ports to be made.

They have separate teams working on DLC.

So we're supposed to do EA's marketing to get items instead of in-game quests. I like it! In game quests can be quite hard, you know.

But they should change the unlock. Instead of books, they should give us the Sandal romance option, we've all been asking for for so long.

I couldn't even get the demo, despite the fact I'm almost 19, know the password, and have changed all the settings I can find. Yet still, no M game downloads for me :(
Are you on xbox? Have you changed your account to an adult account?

OT: i don't really care. I don't have a facebook and if Bioware are trying to get some free advertisement, good for them.

I don't have a facebook. Even if I did I don't think I'd annoy my friends and family like that.
Is that because you do undercover police work, or just because you don't like it?

Are there actually rules against cops having Facebook profiles, or is it just common sense that cops in certain roles will be discreet?

I remember there was a collective facepalm among the security services in the UK, when the wife of the head of MI5 started posting status updates about his new job on her Facebook profile.

Not only do I not want to spam on facebook, there only seem to be 300 something thousand "fans" of DA2 on facebook... so good luck getting a million "shares".

We're not supposed to get a million shares. We're supposed to get a million impressions.

That is, a total of a million views/reads.

jesus bioware, when is enough enough? i dont have facebook, and if i did i wouldnt share shit; their just seeing what they can get away with now, and they'll probably get away with alot more if fans continue to blindly obey. not even bothering to release a cool helmet or weapon anymore, their actually trying to get us to spam their advertisements for a book of no known use.

and youll all do it...

My company does this as part of marketing. I honestly don't understand the bitching.

Oh, I forgot, it's bioware, they have turned into the new pet peeve instead of bungie or whoever happens to be flavor of the month.

I won't use it tho, the items are shit anyway and no one is forced to do anything.

Typed this with T9.

Man, so much hate in this thread. Sure, it's a marketing tactic but a damn good one.

That said, I think I spam my friends with enough links. I don't think the news feed of any of my friends would appreciate the extra spam.

So Bioware wants everyone to become annoying Spam bots? Pretty stupid idea. I hope this one fails miserably and they give the item out anyway.
