Any one else secretly wishes the world actually does end in december?

Do I want the world to end? Not particularly. Would I be sad if no one had any reason to be afraid, hurt anyone else, be a dick, etc. anymore? Not in the least.

If the world just happens to end, I'm pretty sure that at least then humanity couldn't wreck anything else, and we wouldn't be around to care that we didn't exist.

I dont get the fuss about `TEH END OF THE WORLD!`, I mean, we're all gonna die. So what if it happens at the same time as everyone else.
I dunno, he makes dying all together sound pretty appealing.

No I'd rather the world didn't end in December. I've spent so long laughing in the faces of those who think it will, it would be pretty embarrassing.

And I kind of like living, I guess I've gotten accustomed to it over the years.

I want the world to end so I can play Fallout in real life :] :]

No seriously though, I have no idea why anyone would actually want the world to end, not that it will, since it's completely bollocks. I don't even think the Mayans believed it would end, but that people from our age misinterpreted them. I think that's what I heard anyway.

And as for "rebuilding society", all it would do is set back the progress civilisation has made by a few thousand years.

honestly, i dont think the world will blink from existance or anything. i think if anything were to happen it would be events leading to the eventual end of the world. as per the capital wasteland thing first we living would have to be nuked and killed and any small amount of survivers would have it. zombies would be nice at least then we have a fighting chance. i like the sound of say some godzilla monster showing up and slowly destroying everything because we can pretend we have hope then. all in all though the world is becoming over-populated filled with murder, hate, greed, lies and well, just all kinds of stupid wrong people who if it ended would be at fault on their own. not saying those people are any of you the fact that you had a stance on the subject shows you care in one way or another to the subject. the people who saw indifference in the subject are those people..... ok enough of this... later.

If it were the end of the world as we know it, meaning massive social change with little to no actual destruction, then yes. If there is one thing we need right now, it's a change to the status quo of how our society works, because this way ain't working.

Well there would be a redicuously long queue at the pearly gates!! :p

Seriously though, as much at it would be cool to say, 'I was there' I'd much prefer it to be a lot later in my life! I have so much more to see, do and experience before I start wishing for the end!

Existing in a shitty world > not existing at all, but then again if some nonsensical prohecy would turn out to be true then maybe there would be an after life, in this case whatever Mayans believed in, not sure what that is, but there would be a lot of confused and disappointed christians and whatnot, i'd like to see that, sounds hilarious.

Secretly? No. I tell everyone I know that I'm outright looking forward to it!

I know it's not going to happen; but if given the option of any other way I could die, watching the world end around me has got to be interesting at least. I can imagine being surrounded by friends and family watching the news of the event and thinking, "I can't believe I spent so much time worrying about rent, horrible jobs, and bank accounts." I think it would be the ultimate zen moment for me.

I also assume that by "end of the world", we're talking about all life on this planet going belly up. No zombie plague, or post apocalyptic scenario, all gone.

I expect it to be quite a spectacle, indeed. But by all means, let it not be the end of civilization.

6 billion is a handfull compared the all the people who have walked the earth since the begining . An apocalypse is a special one time event . Somethin the earth have never seen . I never said the dying is cool or watching everyone die would be awsome . I'm just curious to what an apocalypse would look like . Plus i get to brag in hell that i saw the apocalypse . Also just wishing it isn't going to make it happened ( unless we are playing persona 3).
Not really, here's an estimate of about 107.6 billion: http://www.prb.org/Articles/2002/HowManyPeopleHaveEverLivedonEarth.aspx

Thats an estimate up to around 2011.

Other sources I looked at were pretty much in line with that, so 6.9 billion (the population at the time of the previous number) people leaves about 6.41% of the population to ever walk the earth currently alive right now.

Looking at causes of death percentages, that slots in nicely between respitory diseases and unintentional injuries. Less people die of HIV/AIDS - you'd hardly have much to brag about. Though thats current data not everyone who ever lived data.

I do realise that you're being hypothetical, I just find the reasons you give to be silly. Thinking the end of the world would be 'interesting' for anyone who is around for it just doesn't make sense.

Nope, not a chance. I want the people who believe this stuff to realize their mistake and get on with their lives.

Why are people so keen on trying to destroy the world 10 days after my birthday?!
Do you guys not like me? Is this your idea of a troll birthday present with a 10 day delay to make it extra trollish?

i didn't even think i would live this long so i dont really care if it did end. Plus even if it doesn't people will still say 'Its because of humanity's good deeds we were saved'. i dislike those kind of people

No. I'm not an emotional wreck with social anxiety, so I would gladly like to live on. I'm 27, for fuck's sake. So many years left.

To the people who are emotional wrecks with social anxiety: Don't take 7 billion people with you just because you can't hack it. That seems like more of a 'only you need to die, really' scenario.
wait...so your 27, and you think that someone posting a thought on a website could, in some way, cause the deaths of 7 billion innocents?

lol

OT - i cant wait for the week beforehand, when people start losing their shit.

just to be safe, im going to have a big party that night. what could be better than a bag of grass, a 6 pack and the company of close friends to watch the world end?
