We seem to be forgetting that the 3DS is going to have a new Professor Layton game and Sony is releasing a Sly Cooper Collection. Plus, Crysis 2, Gears of War 3, Heroes on the Move, Bulletstorm, and tons more. I was very satisfied.

I have mixed feelings about valve pulling the carpet too. It's one thing to make an announcement a suprise but to completely turn tail on the "no valve games for ps3 because its immpossible to code for" arguement is a dick move.
You do know that Portal will still be on the 360 and PC, right? I thought it was a dick move for them to keep whining about the ps3 dev kit like they were for years. Actually for the past year, it was seeming less like a dick move and more like pathetic incompetence. I for one am glad they finally got their shit together. And honestly, even though I have a ps3, I'll probably still get it for the PC anyway, I just prefer my shooters there.
Yes I do know. I was refering to them adding steam support to the ps3 whilst leaving the xbox out. Im a sonybro and I was still a bit pissed because of the complete turn around in their previous statement about ps3. Its one thing to do what jaffe did but to say ps3 sucks then turn around and say but oh we like it now heres steam and portal 2 is a whole different matter.

I'm of the opinion that the steamworks for the ps3 was one of the conditions valve set for bringing any of their games to the ps3. I do think it's a bit odd too that they had such a change of heart but it's not at all disappointing. It's actually quite relieving to see them acting like grownups.
My biggest disappointment was learning that Sony is serious about psn plus. Even with free stuff, psn isn't anything worth paying for. One of the main reasons I got a ps3 was to avoid on-line fees. I already pay my cable company for on-line service thank you very much. If sony wants my money, they can bother Time Warner.
But when it came to dick moves, I hate to see sony tale the "exclusive content" on multiplatform games rout. It was annoying enough to have to wait for the fallout3 dlc (the gta dlc was way too overpriced in my opinion so that wasn't as annoying) and I don't see any reason for them to pull that kind of crap at this point. It's not like it's going to move consoles.

But overall, I found this e3 to be less disappointing than the past few years.

Everything actually was fine from my point of view. I'm really happy at all these dozens of new IPs popping up. It's almost like the gaming industry is about to break free of its last "generation" of games and trying a bunch of a new franchises. And then, of course, Nintendo is still desperately clinging on to Shigeru Miyamoto to keep them alive.

And Sony and Microsoft had some cool stuff to show off. The 360 slim looks sleek and effective, and the motion stuff looks promising. We'll just have to see where everything goes from here.

My biggest problem is that Bioware has no mention of Mass Effect 3 or the next Dragon Age game.

I'm just disappointed that they're producing roughly the same stuff Nintendo Wii has. I dont think Sony or Microsoft will be the family friendly, living room fun that the Wii is.
I am impressed with the ps3 stuffs though. The microsoft press conference....omg that was painfully shite.

Hmmm I had not heard about PSN plus. That makes it more dissapointing for me. As long as it does not deny me from playing online I will be happy.

Yes thankfully, they stuck with that promise.
It seems like you just get a free mini once in a while and early beta access. I can't complain about free games but I thought it was bad enough when they started treating Beta access like prizes but now they want people to pay for access?
I used to get paid to beta test.
Thankfully I have a real job now but it totally sucks for students who need the extra cash.
