You should be expecting the removal of all apps trying CURE religion.Eri said:If this app was removed, I expect shortly to see all apps involving anything gay or lesbian be removed as well. Equality is the name of the game.
and while I agree with you, freedom of speech is not a valid argument in this situation as Apple is NOT the government.GreigKM said:People need to realize that freedom of speech only extends to anything not "obscene" or infringing on the rights of others. You can't just spew bigotry and expect to be protected. Good on Apple for removing this.
This app promotes hate or intolerance towards gays, as in saying it's something you can be cured of. Those pro-gay apps do not promote any sort of hate nor to they attack those fundamentalist 16th century school of though churches.Eri said:If this app was removed, I expect shortly to see all apps involving anything gay or lesbian be removed as well. I'd hardly call an app trying to cure "the gay" hateful. If they aren't trying to force it on anyone, I see no problem. Would you call an app saying how great it is to be gay and everyone should try it "hateful"?Braedan said:You should be expecting the removal of all apps trying CURE religion.Eri said:If this app was removed, I expect shortly to see all apps involving anything gay or lesbian be removed as well. They didn't remove an app because it's religious, they removed it because it's hateful.
How does someone believing gay can be cured, promote hate? I'm pretty sure it doesn't. You can believe Stalin was right and keep it to yourself, and it's not spreading hate just because you believe it.Tenky said:snip
Exactly what I was about to post. Well said, sir.HontooNoNeko said:If someone posted an app that claims you can cure the disease of being black it would be national news
An ignorant belief would be one wherein you hold a belief against the evidence or with no evidence, for example, all Muslims are terrorists, or it's wrong to be gay, respectively.CM156 said:I hear that quite a bit now, but no one seems able to define an "ignorant belief" to me. Belief an be an extremely powerful thing, so no, I don't think ignorant beliefs should be tolerated.
No it's not, it's the most unsilly thing in the world. Apple exists to make money, if people aren't buying Apple products because they're offended by Apple policies, then Apple is not making money.dogstile said:Although removing something simply because it might offend people is just silly >.> Grow up guys

If those apps say that being straight is wrong, then yes.Eri said:If this app was removed, I expect shortly to see all apps involving anything gay or lesbian be removed as well. Equality is the name of the game.
If you're trying to cure something, you're saying there's something wrong with it and it should be removed. Although that doesn't necessarily imply hate, given the context of this being a Christian group, I think it's fair to say it probably is hate.Eri said:I'd hardly call an app trying to cure "the gay" hateful. They didn't remove an app because it's religious, they removed it because it's hateful.
that makes you worse. christians can at least say 'its against our religion', as if it were pacifists. anti-LGBT atheists sicken me more.Calibretto said:I agree with this app and I am not a christian.
Yes because clearly having an interest in religion or spirituality is a disease. Seriously, grow up.Outlaw Torn said:Is there an 'app' to cure christianity/stupidity too? I'd imagine this fellow wouldn't be very pleased if there was.
As a rather far-right Christian, I would find that rather funny. Why? Because I know that the point of that app was to offend, rather than offer a service. Let?s look at the app in question though. If the point was to offend, if no one became involved with a protest of it, it would not serve its purpose. But if the app makers did truly feel that ?gay? was something you could cure, why do you care?BabyRaptor said:Someone make a "Cure Christianity" app and let's watch how quickly the Religious Right starts howling. That would be an attack on their freedoms! I can just hear Sarah PayMe now.
But us non-heterosexuals...We're not human, the cause of everything bad in the world, ETC...so who cares if you offend us?
