Apple Disses DS and PSP at iPod Event

You know, with all Steve's hubris, people might start to hate him so much that somebody might actually buy a PSP...

While no where near as close to the DS's 113-or-so million [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nintendo_DS#Sales], the PSP still has a respectable 56 million worldwide sales [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlayStation_Portable#Sales].

Say what you wish about the PSP itself, but it's sold pretty decently.

TL;DR - Apple's 'disses' may have been opinion, but the facts they used to back them up are faulty at best and outright irrelevant at worst.

An opinion alone doesn't need to be based on any facts. Sure, no one will take your opinion seriously but still.

The question here is if their facts were lies or if they just happend to be very subjective. Seeing that an opinon itself can not be a lie (unless you lie about your opinion I guess?) they are just like a fanboy.

They twist numbers around to make it look good for them.

No, if you say the psp sucks balls then its a lie and an opinion. Every one here that's hating on apple is doing so because we as gamers, don't like it when someone disses our systems. Its like the console wars. All the consols degraded and insulted each other for the sake of "promotion" but it doesn't change the fact that it was basically a flame war. Now that that's over with and we have relative peace on the market, apple just comes on and says "fuck you, we're better" without legitimate anyway to back itself up. So if someone tells me "fuck you", even if it's only for promotion, I'm gonna punch em in the face.

The PSP sucks big time.

That isn't a lie nor is it a fact. It's a opinion based on my experience of the product. A opinion can never be a lie, sure it can be a stupid opinion with no facts to back it up, but it's not a lie.

Yeah, but does the iPhone have Professor Layton series, Ace Attorney series, The World Ends with You and the myriad of other DS games I've enjoyed which seem to be exclusive to the console?

Ace Attorney is coming to iPhone soon. Not Professor Layton or the World Ends with You, but a whole load of DS/PSP games seem to be finding their way onto the iPhone.

Well, Extracredits was talking about the transition from consoles to phones and tablets, but Gaming laptops are superior.

But anyway- I hate playing games on my touch screen phone. (Note I have an Android) They are amusing, but hard to control, and half the time I accadentally hit the menu button, and my game gets shut down when I try to fire the goddamned plane's gun!

In all reality, PSP and DS is better because they have (pauses) BUTTONS.

Yeah, it may have a shit ton of games, But a good 100 are worth playing.

Phones are not video game consoles, they are PHONES. PSPs can play every title they have, because they use UMD! DS's can play every game they have because they have those one little floppy disk like things! They don't have limited memory to play the games (They do to save them) and Iphones do!

After filling a phone up with the music I want, all of the apps I would need, and all of the info I'd put on it, If the phone had 8 gigs of memory, I'd have like 3 left for games. And with all of those graphically awesome games, I could hold like 2.

Again, the gaming laptop PWNS all in this situation- The M11X, small, portable, awesome, and can play every game I want. I also have a friggin huge hard drive, and a computer! But I did come here to back up my portable gaming devices, so I wont go to in detail with that one.

But still apple, Remember what happened when you tried to make a game console?

So I wouldn't recommend riding your high horse to the sunset so fast.
