I avoided the ones at high school like the plague (and quite frankly, they probably were covered in the plague), but outside of that I'll use public restrooms if I really need to otherwise I'll just hold on until I'm home.

Once I used a port-potty, and a drunk granny threatened to punch me because it apparently a womens toilet and I was apparently being a perv for going into a toilet. (She was lying for an excuse to punch me.) When I came out she realized it was a little-ish boy and laughed a lot... Then told me to piss off.

Money is dirtier and has more germs on it than a public toilet seat. So handling your everday change is actually worse than going to the bathroom in public, even if there's urine all over the seat.

Just an interesting fact for germaphobes who handle money all day but refuse the shake my hand because "I'm unclean"

I don't have experience with what they are like in the rest of the world, but here in England every public toilets I've ever been to was pretty clean. So, no problems here at all.
