Technically I'm special because I have a higher than average IQ, but in reality, I'm just another of the unwashed masses.
Mind you, that is THE most DEFEATIST, PESSIMISTIC and ultimately DREAM CRIPPLING way of thinking ever to be seen. Do you need to be special to do something important? No, you just need to do it. And mind you, I WILL become a rock star, and I will kick the silly out of all that jazz.

Everyone being special doesn't mean that nobody is, it means that everybody is.
Don't mistake me for not knowing where you're coming from, I know: If everyone is special then everyone is different, therefore there is no benchmark for deciding what is and isn't special yada yada yada. Look beyond that.
Some people are different, they do rise above the rest due to their unique, special qualities. From Leaders to Luminaries, they're all above the benchline.

Dont get what the criteria for special is physicaly im nothing abnormal, mentaly slightly above average intellegence. Personality wise I like to think im unique, I have my secrets that no one will ever know and pains that i will likely never express so in regard I think that makes me different, not that we dont all have secrets/pains but that those are mine and mine alone from birth to death.
I used to believe that I would be a billionaire driving around in expensive cars, with a huge business etc. But that was a long time ago.
Realistically, maybe I will start a business, maybe selling electronics or something.(Maybe a corner store)
EDIT: How could I forget! VIDEO GAMES. Actually, that wouldn't be a bad idea, this store would have the small you need/want. Food, drink, entertainment etc.

I am not a unique and beautiful snowflake. I am part of the all singing, all dancing, crap of the world.
I don't give a shit whether or not I'm special. I say make yourself become something else if you're not satisfied and if you can't do that, then you can take refuge in the notion that very few people with share the exact same perspective. And even if you do share a similar perspective, at least you know you aren't alone.

What I was trying to prove wasn't that no one is special. That's just silly.
What I was trying to prove was that many of us think we are special even though it clearly couldn't be true. Not meant to be offensive; let's use myself as an example. I used to think I was special throughout high school (and sometimes even today, when I am watching certain films). There's a 'feeling' you get. A biochemical reaction in your brain that tells you: I am special. I must be!
'Some' of these people do become luminaries. But most of them? Just look at the poll results. Evolution has played a sick game on us, that's all I'm trying to say =P

hey man im still special, whenever i go to a class, the teacher always remembers my name the next time, but hardly anyone elses
