Aren't Robots Guarding Nuclear Sites a Bad Idea?

Anti-robot defense: place hardwired (with analog not digital switches) EMP bombs near or on any major system that can get out of control. Therefore if skynet acts up, flip the goddamn switch and it dies. Also make the fucker unaware of the failsafe.

Has anyone read "I Have No Eyes and I Must Scream"? Normally I would laugh at such a news story, but now I can only think of an eternity of torment under the hatred of a world controlling super computer.

Is it me or does this thing not seemed to be armed. So what happens when it drives up to a trespasser like a few terroists that tell the guy on the over side of the microphone to do one while they drive on toward the nuclear armed base.

Why don't the americans just put up a sign saying nuclear weapons please don't steal at the entrance.I would laugh but this will end up very badly for everyone.

That all sounds great on paper, but what happens when Skynet hacks the robots to repel any human control, leaving our nuclear materials free to be plundered?
What happens when this guy hacks the robots to kill humans?

I just thought of the most amazing game!, you get behind a dune (relativelly close to where the "patroll" goes) and trow a rock at it!, it will send a message to the "command center" then, free a coyote or a rabbit or whatever other animal lives around there!!

"another god damn animal"

hehehehehehehehe

it would be fun untill they found me and shoot me...

I welcome they robot overlords. Please dont use my body as a battery.
And if you do, please let me live in my own virtual, customizable environment.

Also, when my body dies, would you kindly download my brain into said environment so I may live forever?

I swear I totally won't go Neo on your ass...
Can i join you guys? Oh, i wont go Neo either.

Well i feel nukes in gereral are a bad idea, they give everyone one with the the right sources the means to destroy the world and they prevent fullscale assults upon folks who mean you gravest harm.

But yeah we just created the basis for skynet.

6 million? That's it? That's not even a drop in the bucket.

And if one of those nukes goes off, all the robots will be fried for sure, but people have a chance of not dying & find out what happened. That sounds better to me.

What a delicious time to live in. Grow up your whole childhood watching things like Terminator and Matrix, then suddenly science is actually bringing forth the demons science fiction writers have been talking about for years. It's like, you KNOW nothing like that will actually happen... Right?

Guys, these robots are not autonomous. Like modern UAV's, they are probably either controlled from a distance or set on a patrol circuit and have cameras monitored by humans in an observation post.

sure, bring some cookies and a ps3 and you're welcome in

now tell me, blue overalls with big yellow numbers and characters or do you want a different style?
Oreos okay?
Oh... and I don't have many games for my PS3 right now... but if we can find a working gaming laptop... and assuming at least one Steam server is still working... ah well...

And... sure... stick with the classic look.

I'd rather suck it up and spend the taxes to give Americans jobs. As for putting a ROV on guard patrol...I'm not concerned unless it gets hacked by humans.

BTW: $6,000,000 / 350,000,000 people = $0.017 a piece. Yea.

And it begins.

OT:I can see many problems with robots on patrol, they can be hacked and easily antispated.
