If you were in England and saw someone breaking one of your home laws would you intervene?
Also:
What do you, personally, class as excessive force?
With regards to self-defence
i.e. guy A gets attacked by guy B, how much harm does guy A have to cause before you think he's gone too far?
EDIT: will you bust anyone on this thread who admits to crimes? lol
I believe in a being a good person and helping my fellow man. So if it was like assault, murder, a purse snatching, you bet your ass. But I think most people should act like that.
Excessive force is hitting someone who is already in restraints. Excessive force is using your weapons when someone is unarmed and screaming at you. There is actually a chart with different levels of force (passive resistance, active resistance, active aggression, etc.) you are allowed to go ?one level? above what the other person is using.
Edit: I don?t carry the shield anymore but if I did, unless someone admits to murder or something probably not.

Is there a reward for turning in illegal immigrants in your state, like there is here in Arizona? I always figured it was just border states.
My non border state has an ICE (immigrations customs enforcement, INS no longer exists) headquarters in this city, so we almost never have to deal with that. If you arrest someone who turns out to be an illegal we just call ice and let them know, and they sit in jail.
I have serious issues with immigration laws, especially since I started working at jail.

I've heard that when a person is pulled over for minor traffic infractions, the officer is really only there to give a warning, but depending on how the person being pulled over acts, they will get a ticket.
Is that true?
Or when an officer pulls someone over, they are going to give a person a ticket. Also, I doubt it's true, but do officers have some sort of 'quota' that they have to meet?
No and No. It?s an officer?s discretion but most of your traffic stops are documented and you have to say ? I gave a warning? if you did. If you?re doing that all the time expect internal affairs to ask why. That quota thing is an urban myth. People think when they see a lot of cops out that the ?quota? most be nearing it?s turn in date, the truth is speeding/drunkenness has become a problem in a certain area so they put more patrol cars in that area to curb the problem.
