Has anyone in Russia ever been heard to use an 'In Soviet Russia...' joke, or were they started elsewhere.

Since I technically lived in Soviet Russia, I can safely say that no. No, they have not made such a joke. However, they have made tons of "Only in America..." jokes.

To US citizens...do that many of you really have a gun in your house? Is it pretty much everybody like we are led to believe? I'm aware that it may well be more common in some of the southern states, but really...how many of you don't have a gun somewhere in the house?

In total it's about 3 people of every 10 own a gun.... But in the southern states, everybody has one.

Or in Alaska. I dont know anyone who doesnt own some type of gun. I use mine for hunting cute fuzzy animals all the tourists enjoy looking at. Like moose and bear, mmmmmm... bear.

The typical gangs arent so bad. Bloods and Crypts and so on are on the small end. The gangs we have trouble with are ususally tha Native and Latino gangs. Its sad because the native peoples are actually making serious attempts to keep the current generation out of gangs.

I never saw the appeal of gangs. Whats the average price of gas up there?

Average about $3.50 per gallon. Though Ive seen it as high as $4.50 per gallon. Dont start up with the, "But you have all the oil bit." In order to refine the vast majority of it, we have to ship it out of state and then get it shipped back, so it ends up being, at least a bit, higher than average.

Brown bear always has a fetid taste, but black bear tastes pretty good alot like beef actually. You just have to get to them before they get to the fish.

Is the beer really cheaper than most drinks in Germany? my boyfriend just got back from Kologne (spelling?) and he said that he bought beer most of the time because it was cheaper

Well it isn't cheaper than non-Alcohlic bevereages if thats what you wanted to know.But it's cheaper than Cocktails and stuff like this.And our beer has more alcohol than most American beers, so you don't need as much to get wasted ;-).

That's true.I still don't understand how you crazy Americans can drink light beer.

By all means, do so. It'll be a good chance for you to taste some VERY fine beer (which IS mostly cheaper than other drinks, aside from water... seriously, buying a Coke will dig a bigger hole in your wallet than a beer) AND see for yourself that not all Germans are in fact Bavarians - if you travel to Cologne (that's Köln in German) I can pretty much promise you you won't encounter a single human being wearing Lederhosen. xD

It depends on the high school. At my school we really don't have the cliches and the problems that come with them. We are all kinda just laid back (like the rest of Oregon really), but I'm there are some high school in my country that are like that (probably in California or Florida).

hahahaha sadly i will still be in school...but i'm guessing that is like Mardi Gras in New Orleans and luckily I'm about an hour away from NOLA! =)

Yes and no. They're not easily definable, and they're not going to break out in song and dance the way they do in "high School musical" ... *shudders* but we do have them. The real trick is not to find the cliches, but to find those who ignore them. I've kinda gone to three different high schools, and a bigger city with a more intellectual school usually results in better people. Just sayin', the schools that like to think they are "ghetto" are usually filled with a very different sort of person than the ones where drama class is the hardest to get into. And small town schools tend to result in VERY defined cliches, and those who come from outside the town are sorta permanent outcasts.

It depends on the high school. At my school we really don't have the cliches and the problems that come with them. We are all kinda just laid back (like the rest of Oregon really), but I'm there are some high school in my country that are like that (probably in California or Florida).

that's just because Oregon kicks ass at everything other than economy.
On the other hand, there are a few schools with cliches in Portland. Namely some of the poorer ones.
