I have two pairs I use regularly:

I use these Sony headphones for running/working out because they hook around the ear and stay in regardless of what I'm doing:

I use these SteelSeries headphones for gaming/at work because they are the most comfortable headphones I've ever worn.

A set of Sony MDR XD200's
http://g-ecx.images-amazon.com/images/G/01/electronics/detail-page2/B0007N55NW-1.jpg

I got em for I think $20, and the sound quality is amazing. It also comes with a 6 foot cord, which is overkill of course, but kind of nice sometimes. If I could somehow rig my Turtle Beach X41's to work on my computer, I would, but I don't have the adaptor for it.
That's fine, these things are comfy as fuck and are really great.

When I am not home, I use my regular iPod headphones.

A Plantronics .655 DSP for my PC. Good sound, good microphone (I use Skype a lot), fairly happy with them. Sound is very balanced, very good and crisp lows and mids, bass isn't overpowering and the USB connectivity is nice. I also like that it has volume and mic mute controls on the headset and not on the wire. I hate the little control box on the wire. Very comfortable too

On the go I use a Nokia BH-505 bluetooth headset. Great sound quality, great battery life, practically weightless and to top it off, water-resistant. I've listened to music while riding my bike in the rain with these puppies (rain, sweat and mud) and they are flawless. They are slightly awkward to wear at first, on my head at least they feel like they are just about to fall off, but that's just an impression, they are very stable and pretty impossible to shake off.

Turtle Beach HPA2 with Creative Sound Blaster Extigy DAC.
I use them for 5.1 Blurays and games.
True Discrete Dolby Digital that (IMHO) out performs Astros & Trittons.

When I'm out and about I use the standard iPod headphones, but when I'm sitting around or doing homework while listening to music, I use Bose noise cancelling headphones.

I had a part just the same which I thourght were awsome untill they faild on me...then I had to accept that earbuds inevitably fail every few months (though to be fair I do tend to be rough on them)

Im curious to see how long my $80 sennheiser earbuds last....

Bah my earbuds have lasted me for a few years... but now they're kind of in terrible condition. But I don't think my rather cheap looking earbuds were in a poor enough condition to replace within a few months, what do you do to them? o__O
I dont know..I think because Ii often did stuff with them (my Ipod/earplugs on) and also dragging them in and out of a handbag (god that statment feels so out of place here) I think it had somthing to do with the cord being yanked around, partically where it connects to the jack

I probably wouldnt have bought expensive earbuds, but I had a gift card and was curious to see it they were noticibly different/worth it (before I stuck with a partcular set of TDK ones about $30 which were really good for the price)

Beats by Dre. I came off $4 earplugs to these and I was pretty darn amazed.

Although from what I heard (and agree with) they probably aren't top of the line and are overpriced. Your paying for the design and the name. Audiophiles look elsewhere.

Still, they are the best looking headphones I have ever seen.
It's not that they are particularly bad, they just have WAY too much bass and someone who hasn't used balanced headphones wouldn't know that their music is sounding wrong.

Sennheiser are the only brand to use.

Once you hear the quality - everything else seems like cheap toys - especially trendy brands like skull candy which sell on image - not sound quality.

Westone 3. $350, totally worth it. Aside from being 100% viable hearing protection - I used them while firing a .50 caliber machine gun and a M240b machine gun, they work - they're comfortable for hours of use, they look good, they come in this awesome little case that fits right in the calf pocket of my pants... Oh, and the sound is fantastic, but that's just a given.

The cheapest ones possible. They always break and I'm not really fussed about sound quality. Sometimes I get a pair of Sennheisers when there's a discount, but I usually stick with extreme cheapness.

I don't know what you people do to your buds, but I've had a pair of cheap-ish Creatives for like 4 years. What finally killed them was getting my 30 pound luggage tangled in them and dropping it, resulting in the whole thing dangling from one earbud. Even so it's just a loose contact, easy to fix.
