Do you find that you have a bias towards or against a particular type of avatar? For instance, I tend to react negatively to loli avatars. Nothing against those who use them, I'm sure you're all wonderful people and whatnot, it's just that I find lolis to be inherently creepy and irritating.
Aww, does that mean you don't like mine? ;P

Anyway, on topic, I don't really think there are any types of avatars I don't like unless it's something ridiculously popular for no real reason. Portal avatars and My Little Pony for instance.
Seriously... what the hell is the deal with that show?

Other than that... nothing really. Or at least, nothing I can think of.

I don't think the first one counts. The OP wanted to derail the thread.
Oh, if we're not counting derailments the OP was involved in I've never seen it happen.
Well, the main argument is that threads are "victimized" and "taken over" by pony posting which shows disrespect for the OP and the discussion. But if the OP is involved with the derailment/starts it, how can that be the case?
Hmm, I thought the argument was that the ones making the argument were "victimized" by being subjected to a pony thread in disguise. I'm not saying it's a good argument considering the ones making it are the ones who also post in every single pony thread as well.
Never mind. The community let me down. I try to defend them and they go and derail the Furry topic. Sigh...thanks guys. I concede the point.

Okay, this has gone unanswered long enough. I have only ever seen this happen twice, ages ago. So it's nowhere near as rampant as HighPlainsSquinter would have you believe...
Huh? When did I say pony derailment was rampant?
Whoops, I meant to say mjc0961. But I guess when I was looking at it in the quote window yours was the first one I saw so I typed it. Sorry.
*Fixed*

Wow, what are the chances of that? Although I still don't think it happens nearly as much as the haters say, I mean according to mjc0961 every person with a pony avatar is a ticking time bomb ready to go off.

I find this impossible. How could you hate her!? She's just too cute!! ^_^
*pounce cuddles avatar* :D
I agree with this statement, it's adorable.

Then again I wouldn't exactly classify your avatar as 'loli'.

Been thinking of changing mine, but I have no idea to what.

OT: Gotta say it, I hate the ponies. Nothing wrong with the show, hell I even watched a couple episodes with my niece and it IS a well made show. I think it is similar to me and Christianity, Fine on most if not all accounts, but the majority of the fandom drives me up a gorram wall...

She's technically considered loli in the show since they reference it once and one of the genre's is labeled "loli," but there's never any sexual stuff.

Though, your avatar is just as cute.
If my shit eyesight could make it out a bit more, my ador-o-metre would have just broken >.<

I hate avatars of people with their damned top hats. People here have no sense of style around here. And there are a lot of them.

Not really biased against avatars, I mean, they're just pictures right?

Although the ones with tiny text that make me squint I'm not too fond of...

Ah, I see. Not what I thought, actually.
Looked to me like she was holding her arms up, cheering :p
But still cute nonetheless ^^

The majority of the avatars I see are pretty boring or lame, but to judge people by a small picture? That's just silly. Unless that picture is inappropriate, I'm going to treat you all equally.

Not really. The main thing they do for me is make it much, much easier to pick out which posts are by which people when trying to follow a line of conversation in a thread. So I guess when people have especially generic avatars or similar avatars it bugs me a little bit. There are a handful of posters I recognise by their avatars too, though I couldn't tell you the username of a single one of them.

I might have positive bias for people with unique, artistic, or funny avatars though. And I imagine I'd probably judge people with Generic Picture of Anime Character #278 too if there weren't so damn many of them on here.

I don't know if you'd call it a bias, but I tend to associate a user with their avatar so much that to me their avatar is them. Or at least I imagine that it's what they look like or something. Which makes it weird when someone has an avatar of a character/person of the other sex.

Other than that though, avatars only tell me a bit about a user, like what they're interested. I don't judge them that much by it. Or at least I try not to.

Anything with words that are far too small to read (IE: Motivational posters with more than 2 lines usually go way to small font wise.) I like to get to know people here by their pictures but I feel like I cant get to know people when I cant read what its about...
