Bland unoriginal avatars, the kind of image you'd see everywhere even in general life. Something which everyone knows, it shows a complete lack of effort and really reflects nothing about the user whatsoever, they're either a bland sheep or are an annoying 'so hip they're doing the mainstream' ironical bastard... Heh heh heh

Haha, now it's turned into a guessing game. Yes, Julianking93 is the avatar I was talking about. I hasten to add that the person himself is fine and writes some interesting things. I have nothing at all against him. It's just that I used to have a girlfriend who would occasionally act like a cat, holding up her hand like a paw and meowing. Over and over, and over. It was cute for about ten seconds, then it became annoying as hell. Julianking93's avatar has the exact same feeling to it.

BTW, Steppin Razor, yours strangely does not bother me at all, I think it's kinda cute actually.
Victory! Now to see if Julian has commented in this thread so I can rub it in his face.

Aha! Cop that, Jurian. My avatar doesn't irritate people like yours does.

I've changed my avatar only once since I got here. Used to be a glaring Maka Albarn.
I try to be less aggressive these days, so I think this Nisa avatar is probably better suited.
The reduction in "hurr durr why does anyone like JRPGs?" threads that I've noticed this year probably helps with the whole non-aggression thing.

On Topic
Seeing all these comments about people disliking trollface have given me the urge to hit up the avatar store and see if I can get a trollface edited on to my avatar.

Nah, not really. No avatars bug me, but lack-of avatars do. I remember people by their avatar more than their name usually so when someone doesn't have an avatar I feel kinda like I don't trust them in some strange way.

On a side note, I wonder if anyone has a bias to my Pulsating Vagina Monster gif that I made?
It really creeps me out.

Note that I'm not trying to start something here or anything but let me just say that if Lucky Star was your first, and presumably only, encounter with lolicon or "kawaii"/cute style anime, I can tell you your creeped out-ness is justified.
I like lolicon and Lucky Star freaks me out. I find it funny that people who tend to like that show are the types who get mad at me for liking Kodomo no Jikan (look it up... maybe. >.>) when Lucky Star is possibly one of the most sexually perverted anime I've ever seen.
And to top it off, it's boring as hell.

Why must you hurt me every time I see you? ;~;

I COULD ASK YOU THE SAME THING!

But yeah, it's because I'm a douche.

I'm going to ignore the "your avatar gets on my nerves thing" and just go with I'm an interesting writer, so long as "interesting" means good. :D

And this thread is making me really want to change my long standing "Princess Val" avatar. >.>

The only time I am bias is when I encounter someone with the same exact same image as my (using the same character doesn't count unless it's the same detail with that character). Regardless who use it first it make spend ages trying to get a new unquie avatar that no one else had used.

Other than that no I'm not bia over an image/ gif. I'm not judgemental like that.

While not having the time to read all of this thread, I chanced over a few points which I like, so i will ad my voice with theirs.

First, I also distrust people who don't have even a basic Avatar, because it either means you don;t identify with the internet or yourself in the internet, and so interatcing when you are in that position tells me that people aren't ready to make a name for themselves on the internet, which is fine to a point.

Secondly, as the avatar is essentially a representation of what you want other people to think of you (With the Bieber ones, you either did it as a joke or because you were entranced with his music.), using something, Such as loli, guro or even photos of other celebrities shows a darker side to who people are actually. Nothing wrong with that, as it is only a 2D construct on the Internet. And besides, isn't that what an avatar is? A representation of your self as you want to be?

Hey, now, I've got nothing against people who like Lucky Star.
Just those hypocrite types who seem to think lolicon is some horrible travesty while Lucky Star is... well it's fucking Lucky Star.
And I was disappointed by it. After having such an upbeat intro that hooked me to it, it was surprisingly boring >.>

And... well you're my lovable douche! *hugs*
Oh god, that sounded weird >.>

I have a dislike of people who lack avatars. Makes it difficult to keep track of a conversation in a thread. On the same note, I dislike extremely generic avatars, such as bland anime style characters or MLP ones. Note I just mean the ones which look the same as any other; I've nothing against anime or MLP. Just that the art style's so simple it's hard to tell avatars apart.
I'm glad to be one of the only ones with moustachioed Spike as mine then. I think there's only 1 other person who uses it, and it looks different from mine anyway.

L-L-Ladies.

And while I'm thinking about it, what's your avatar supposed to be? That's another kind I don't like, confusing ones :s
A confusing squiggle that I made far too long ago and is in need of changing. Probably something to do with Warhammer or something.

Adding confusing ones to the list as I have no clue what they are. Hypocrisy! \o/

I can't really say I have a bias against avatars, maybe if someone had the same avatar as mine but I rarely see Game of Thrones avatars, let alone other Greatjon ones

Also, while I think of it, Wouldn't a photo of yourself be an appropriate Avatar? It is you as you want to be seen, as you will probably have picked the photo yourself. Mainly for social networking, this applies.

I'm against every avatar that isn't mine because of reasons and justifications for those reasons.

Really? Your avatar is one of my favourites.
Then again, I have watched an embarrassing amount of ANTM.

OT: For some reason I don't like Yahtzee avatars but I can't explain why. Seems... lazy or something.

I don't think I'm biased against any avatars.. I find that I've heard some about my avatar being loli though. : /

No she isnt, she is just a little homeless girl!

Beyond that. Nah, I find little pony avatars a bit annoying, but I aint particularry biased against anything.
Nah, you're avatar isn't anything wrong or creepy, it's cute! Anyone who says otherwise evidently hasn't grown-up yet.

OT: I admit that a lot of anime and MLP avatars meld into each other, nothing against either of those fandoms but they often make it harder to tell those people apart. Like the Escapist equivalent of East Asian people :-D

Well, it's slow-paced slice of life stuff. It's definitely not for everyone. That being said, I enjoy the manga a lot more, so it might be worth checking out.

Yep, that did come across as rather weird. Oh well, let the weirdness abound.

Funny thing is; I enjoy slow paced dialogue centred movies and shows. Lucky Star was just a bit boring to me.
I'll read the manga though and see if that's any better since... well typically they are in general, even if the anime is already good, the manga's always better >.>

I hate any avatar that doesn't remind me of something. I really like avatars that makes me think of a show, or anything, really. As a brony, I like MLP avatars, because they make me think of a show that I know a lot about, and therefore are able to link that user to his avatar easily.

Hmm, I didn't notice that. In my defense I've been up for quite a long time now so I'm not surprised to have over looked that.
