Seen a few of them myself, fantastic little creatures. Sadly some of them seem to exhibit a nasty streak. Seen quite a few males behaving, shall we say badly? Experienced Duck watchers should have a clue of what I mean.
Yeah. I had a courteous drake escorting a gravid duck in my garden, and two other drakes kept trying to muscle in. I managed to chase them off several times. The duck never quite got into the habit of coming to me for help, but she ran my way a couple of times. It's amazing how long it took the assailants to notice the hundred a
hchooty pounds of
me running at them. There's nothing else in the world quite so stupid as a man with an erection, eh?
Last year, one of the ducks went from 13 hatchling ducklings to four near-adult-size ducklings. It's sort of depressing, really.
Due to squirrels and rats taking an interest, I've had to remove the feeder that was spilling seed on the ground (Onanism!) that brought them, and haven't seen them much since.
