Ok, I know this is an odd title, and I'm really going against the odds in the hope that, given the subject matter, this can be a mature discussion...

But have you ever watched a porn video and just seen a woman (or man) who is...well...bad at it?

I ask because of a video I watched a while back of an actress who will remain nameless...

and it was one of the most peculiar porn experiences I'd ever had (even more peculiar than the one involving the barrel and the jade monkey, but that's a story for another time...)

She constantly stared directly at the camera (often looking rather confused by it) and like clockwork she let out the most uninspired, bored and near identical moan every four seconds or so.

It wasn't sexy, it didn't even have that "it's so bad, it's funny." appeal to it. It was just...boring (which is a shame, because porn is usually known for such well written narratives, am I right?)

Well, is that not a matter of perspective? People have different tastes I guess. I bet there are guys who think that kind of acting as described in the op is sexy. It might trigger some kind of "fetish" for an innocent teen who is not yet totally corrupted by porn industry or even minor case of bdsm if the girl looks distressed. Then again it might be just be bad acting and director/viewers do not care as long as the girls other "assets" are good enough.

Take this from someone who has worked in the film industry. I have met people who have worked in film and porn. Porn is about getting the shot and moving on. The sets, lightning, actors, story, premise, are all crap. I wouldn't raise your expectations too high for it.

Also it might of been one of her first gigs. Everyone tends to stare at the camera at first. She might of also thought she was being sexy. Making you feel like your in the room with them or something.

That's what most women do in porn, some are better at hiding it than others though. I find most porn off-putting, at least industry stuff, because the women are always bored or in pain and they're just paid to act like they're having a good time. I have nothing against the profession of being a porn actress/actor. I see it as a legitimate way to make money, despite many of them having their own personal problems. I just think it needs to be diversified, rather than the typical American porn industry set-up.

I would like to stick up for the adult entertainment industry though, there's far less shady goings on than many of these supposed documentaries make out... yes, I know people who are in the business. The thing is with a lot of these moral crusade pseudo-documentaries is that they are pushing an agenda, whether it's an attack on supposed morality from a religious standpoint (think of the children!) or just for plain ol' ratings (yes, they're all abused drug addicts!). I don't really find myself watching porn that often but I think you need to lower any expectations for porn. Its really just 1 of several movies the girl/guy is going to make this week and I doubt they could get excited for every single one.
