Stupid rule.

I have a kitten.

I've had a cat.

Cat was old. Pissed on things.

Kitten was young. Wouldn't know what to do without a litter box.

Silly rule meant to prevent puppies-- sub 1 yr puppies piss on the floor as a rule, not as an exception.

Fuck it. What is Rule 34? I'd rather look stupid than have this bother me anymore. If it is just a stupid internet thing though, then atleast Ill feel fine about not knowing it.
Rule 34: If it exists, there is porn of it.
And sadly it seems to be very, very true.

Wow, I feel better, much thanks.

We have a cell phone rule at work that gives us an automatic termination for taking it out. I only take mine out to check the time :|
It's called a watch.

OT: I can't recall any major "bad rules," actually.
not allowed to have those either. Just one inconvenience after another.

Tell that chick to F off, or more specifically, keep the cat hidden until it's one. Why the fuck should she tell you what to do? Also, "the zero tolerance no matter if you bring a squirt gun or a nuclear bomb to school your expelled" rule is shit.

and will get her declawed as soon as she's old enough for the surgery
Please for the love of that kitten do NOT get it declawed. Research it a little and you'll find that cats claws are essentially extensions of their paws, similar to our fingers. It's not like removing a fingernail, it's like cutting off fingers. Several studies have shown that cats have residual pain, similar to people who have lost limbs. Even though it is gone, they sometimes feel it as if it is there and they feel pain from it. In fact, most vets will not declaw cats because it is so inhuman and causes so much pain to the cat.

If you must do something about the claws, they sell plastic covers for them at pet stores that will prevent them from being able to scratch things, all without injuring the cat or causing permanent damage to its claws.

And yeah, I know I sound like an advocate for PETA right now, but I'm not feeding you crazy, just information from verifiable research. And kittens are so cute, I would feel like a monster hurting it like that.

The 3 second rule or any variation. It was on the floor. Even if you pick it up.. it was still on the floor.
OK I know that but if it's a like a kernel of popcorn or a chip and on a familiar floor or a carpet i think its fine.

Rule 34 sucks, as does my last school's "No Bullying" policy, which I seemed exempt from.
Agreed, anti bullying policies tend to make things worse (I found that out the hard way). Personally I find the only rules worth braking are those in schools, most are are useful as most health and safety these days, they tend to hinder instead of help the situation.

It's not stupid. Pets under a year old are far more likely to be ill behaved and ruin the carpet, drapes, or furniture. Given that the landlord can waltz into your place whenever he likes, you were pretty much destined to be found out.
Depends on the pet. If it's a blanket rule covering all pets, I'd say it's pretty stupid. Some animals only live a couple of years and are fully developed long before the year mark, and I'm pretty sure a snake or fish isn't going to do anything to your curtains. Can the OP clarify which pets this applies to?
Well, true. If it applies to goldfish from the fair, then it's pretty much a "no goldfish" policy. I was assuming it applied to cats and dogs.

Your apartment owner is really mean. Sounds like you need to change apartments.

I live in a dorm and I am not allowed any pets at all. Also, no guests after 10pm, guests have to sign in, and you get sent to the counciller for drinking alcohol by yourself.

Oh, and don`t declaw your pretty kitten, there are any other methods that can be employed.

Out of interest has anyone actually bothered to bring in a nuclear bomb to test the rule?

OT: At school for our quiet study room there was a 'no eating' rule, it was understandable considering there where about five computers.

What I didn't get was the fact we could drink in that room. Even after we spilt a load of cola on the floor because someone knocked it over with a keyboard, it still wasn't banned. The teacher just told us 'this is why we don't let you eat in this room'. We couldn't make any sense out of that.

That sucks, what kind of evil person hates kittens.
Obviously, she wasn't evil, evil people do like kittens, especially white ones, they're great for stroking while working out an evil masterplan.

Nope, but you should see my school handbook. It just get's stupid. Okay, no guns, no things with sharp points above 4 inches, no fireworks, no grenades, wait! WTF! NO MISSILES!? No RPGs!? No Anti-tank guns!? no Shrapnel bombs!? No Suicide bomber vests!? NO FLAMETHROWERS!?
Jesus Christ, it's sad to think someone is payed to sit around and think up weapons that they should list.

Every law.
Freedom means nothing these days.
I want to parachute off a skyscraper, land in an extremely bad neighborhood, then be chased by a mob wielding torches and pitchforks all the way out of the city. Also I want to be holding a pump-action shotgun the whole time.
But this is prohibited! WHY?!
