Radiohead
Nothing but pure gold
Even Pablo Honey?

If you discount their last album, which was a bastardised version of the band, then the Velvet Underground.
Their first record, the Velvet Underground and Nico, is easily one of the most influential albums in history, inventing pretty much all the tropes that went on to become not only punk and alternative rock (but also massively influential on heavy metal, indie pop and singer-songwriters)
Their second album distilled out all the poppier aspects of the first album, and resulted in something sludgier and crazier than anything that I have ever listened to (and this is in the 60s)
Their third album went in completely the opposite direction, dropping most of the noisier aspects of the first album and putting out something that feels very personal and intimate
Their forth album they decided to do a classic pop album, and they fuckin' nailed that as well
They also have some great live albums and a rarities comp

Others:
The Flaming Lips
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds
Tom Waits
Frank Zappa
The National
Los Campesinos!
LCD Soundsystem
the Arcade Fire

Shrinebuilder.
So what if they've only got one album. I was super hyped about it, and it didn't fail me!

Are there any bands that (in your opinion) have never released a bad album?
The only rule that I'll put down here is that the band has to have released at least 3 albums.

For me I have to say Bad Religion, I got their most recent album yesterday and even after 30 years their music is still as good as it always has been.
that is the first band that came to my mind. haven't gotten the new album yet, but i am really looking forward to getting it.

Dream Theater.

I grieve for the loss of Portnoy, though.

He was too big a part of the band for them to truely recover fully with another drummer.
You read my mind. Even the Portnoy thing.

Coheed and Cambria don't know what a bad album is.
I didn't think Second Stage Turbine Blade was very good, but all the albums after that are perfect.

Gotta say Disturbed. Haven't heard the new one, yet, but all of their albums rock. Easily one of the best bands out there, in my opinion.
I didn't think their new album was that good. It sounded too much like Believe. Don't get me wrong, Believe was an amazing album, but Disturbed to me has had a different feel and slightly different sound on each album and I was disappointed to see them regress instead of continue the trend.

Tool and (I'm gonna get a lot of shit for this) Metallica.

I'm sorry, but I loved each and every one of their albums, including St. Anger

This is all incredibly subjective, but mine is Opeth. For me, there's never a bad time for Opeth.

Switchfoot.

At least all the albums I've heard so far (Legend of Chin, New Way to Be Human, Learning to Breathe, The Beautiful Letdown) have at least 4-5 songs on them that I really like.

Rise against.

Edit: Billy Talent come second, as they have less albums
Wow. I was going to come in with Rise Against, but I was beaten to it within the first freakin' post.

If thats the case, I'll have to go with The Gaslight Anthem. Fantastic band and I can't stop listening to them.

Like I said, I don't have the new one yet. Just haven't gotten around to picking it up. So I don't really know how it is. One thing I like about them, is how different they sound from other bands. Every time I've heard a new Disturbed song on the radio, I instantly knew who it was. And that is important.
