As some are aware the new villain for Chris Nolan's Batman saga has been casted. Tom Hardy from Nolan's summer smash Inception has been cast as the bats new nemesis. Here is the kicker though, is hasn't been made clear which villain he will portray. So now it is time for us the interweb alumni to speculate.

Other than the Riddler, which is the biggest elephant in the room, let's try and get creative, and come up with some other baddy in the Dark Knight's Rouge Gallery.

I think the Red Hood would be cool, I know that it's Robin, but I think he could be a good character to relate to Bruce's past. Something which Nolan seems to like. And here we go...

I agree with Red Hood, simply because he's one of the few ways to get Robin into a Nolan Batman movie without it being lame. You'd need to merge elements of the first three Robins.

You could have Dick Grayson as a gotham socialite in his early twenties, olympian gymnast, black belt in karate, enjoys rock climbing, shooting and extreme sports like base jumping. Young, handsome and heroic looking, have media people jokingly ask him if he's Batman. Then something happens, terrorists, mobsters or a re-imagined supervillian comes along and kills his family. He wants revenge, sees Batman as an example, but at the same time he wants bloodshed. So he gets bodyarmour, kevlar mask-helmet thing (which he paints red) and guns off the black market and starts killing (or at least trying to) criminals.

Batman stops him, they fight for a short while before the cops arrive hunting Batman, the two of them escape and in the process Red Hood helps Batman. Batman finds out who Red Hood is and see how similar the two of them are. He then offers to train Grayson as a partner (and possible replacement).

This is the best costume I think to be adatped. Normal robin costume is too...well lets just say it wouldn't work on film. Nightwing's costume wouldn't make much sense in Nolan universe either because of the small mask and lack of cape. Take away some of the gold on this costume, make the red darker, make it more advanced looking and perhaps give Ninja arm guards like Batman.

Oh as for the OP, I think villains like Bane, Deadshot and Black Mask might make the transition to Nolan film better.

BLACK MASK BLACK MASK BLACK MASK.
Fer cereal.

I'm placing money on Deadshot though. I doubt they'd use Red Hood. Nolan's seems pretty deadset on the "No Robin" thing. I like WolfThomas' scenario though. However, introducing Red Hood seems to be a bad way to "end" the Batman trilogy. That's my only complaint.

I read somewhere it's heavily rumored that it's going to have 2 main villains and a side villain. Them being the Riddler, Catwoman, and the Penguin.

Or they could just be entirely awesome and throw Prometheus or Deathstroke or Bane in, by far some of the best batman villains.
Well, I guess Prometheus and Deathstroke are really just DC villains.

Harley Quinn as herself. Get her twisted off screen by the Joker in the maximum security prison, and set her loose on Gotham.

I would have to disagree with you. I don't like her acting. And I definitely don't find her as hot as most others do. Then again, I don't find Megan Fox or Angelina Jolie hot either.

Plus, to me, she ruined her acting career by starring in those HORRID Resident Evil films, which, like the games, strayed way far off from the game's origins. What with psychic powers, clones, and other weird shit.

I think Scarlet Johannson (or however it is spelled) would be a good Catwoman. Beautiful, lithe, just as she was as Black Widow in Iron Man 2.

I would love for Deathstroke to be in there. (Funny, since he nearly kills Batman in the DC Universe Online trailer, and is quite a bad ass.) He is my new favorite DC character.

want: Hush, Riddler or Black Mask. They make the most sense for Nolan's style of Batman.

wouldn't mind: Harley Quinn, Catwoman, Penguin

special case: Bane. They just need to focus more on the criminal mastermind aspect, make a good storyline involving the venom that gives him his super strength, and near the end, he uses the venom to make him muscular, giving Batman a foe to overcome at the end. Focus on the criminal mastermind part, and he could work.

Uh...: Two Face returning (unlikely, if not impossible), Killer Croc, Clayface, Manbat, Poison Ivy, Mr Freeze, Mad Hatter, insert C-listers of Batman's rouge gallery here.

My money's on the Riddler or the Penguin. Nevertheless, it will be awesome.

But could they do Harley Quinn without the one and only Arleen Sorkin to voice her?

...Probably, but it wouldn't be as good. <_< [/subdued nerd rage]

Now, I am not a big scholar of Batman, but wast the Red Hood also the persona of the Joker, before he fell into the chemicals?

As for bad guys that are not the Ridler, but needs to fit the actor?
Mr.Freeze maybe? I would have cast a more brainy looking actor for that though... so I don't know.

I agree with mister Movie Bob though, they should consider a your Robin for the movie.

Yes, but a few people took up the name.

BTW Batman: Under the Red Hood is an awesome movie you should check out. Marvel may have the upper hand when it comes to live action blockbusters (Batman aside), but DC are putting out some fantastic Animated films.
