I've been playing it all morning. First of all the Voices are awesome with the original Batman and Joker (original to me at least as I grew up on the cartoon), and after replaying it I noticed that the dialogue changes slightly each time (not the cutscenes) so if youend up replaying a bit it's not the same lines again, and again, and again, and again, and again. I liked the combat, and on my second play through I got the hang of it so I could complete the demo without taking any damage.

I'm looking forward to this game, and might even get the special edition that gomes with a FREAKN' BATARANG! I also can't wait to try out playing as the Joker as well.
Just making sure, but you know Joker is playable only on PS3 right?
Calm yourself . I have a PS3. The Joker bit will probably be a little tacked on extra, but still.
Actually, have you seen the gameplay videos? It looks drastically different from the Batman stuff.

Almost makes me sad I don't get to play it.

Almost.

It's out?? I thought it came out tomorrow! TO THE XBOX!
Um, it does come out tomorrow.
For the Xbox.
PS3 version is out today.
*sniffle*
Excuse me as I go cry in the corner.
I figured that out shortly after making that post. These guys seem to favor the PS3...
I know, and it figures that one of the games that I'm actually looking forward to is favored towards the PS3.

Sure, we got Fallout 3 DLC, but I never really got into that game.
If only I could swap them....
You 360 owners do know that you will get to play as Scarecrow right? And you know what that means? That I will have to buy the DLC for Scarecrow and you will have to buy the DLC for Joker. They are both pretty cool, because Scarecrow has some bada** claws.
Site is a little buggy, but its from gamestop. Why haven't I seen this as any news?
http://www.gamestop.com/gs/landing/bmaa/
Actually Joker is PS3 exclusive, Scarecrow is gamestop exclusive, so PS3 gets both, 360 gets scarecrow if they get it at gamestop.
That's what I'm going for, both. Not that it really matters but it seems like fun.
This seems like a good enough game to warrant a pre-order, batman, joker, scarecrow, I love ya PS3.

And I do agree about the Splinter Cell with a cape analogy, but I think thats one of the reasons why the SC series was so cool. It made you feel like Batman. And now the Batman game makes you feel like Sam Fisher.

Its a win-win.
Isn't that a paradox of some sort?

And yeah, it felt like Splinter Cell at parts, but since my last avatar was Nihlus with Sam Fisher's goggles...

Oh, by the way, I'm not too up on Batman lore, was that Killer Croc at the end?

No it wasn't Croc, I actually don't know what that was, it wasn't Bane either...

The voice acting is wonderful.
The voice for Batman is Kevin Conroy, who did the voice on the animated series as well. The show's writer, Paul Dini (who also had a great run on Detective Comics) wrote the game.
Yeah, I'm pretty psyched about it.
Well, Paul Dini also gave us, "I'LL KILL YOU! I'LL KILL YOU TO DEATH!!!"

Might as well, confess to this one as well.

That was awesome, the detective vision is pretty sweet though the lack of Robin is a shame.
Wait, someone who likes Robin? Wow. Never thought I'd see that.
Who the hell doesn't like Robin?
Everyone except Robin. I'm pretty sure even Batman hates him.
You really should be more specific about which Robin we're talking about here. For instance, Dick Grayson is awesome because he was Nightwing, and now he is Batman after Bruces' death. While Jason Todd(2nd Robin) is a fucking douche who should have stayed dead.

I figured it wasn't him, I just wasn't sure. So, you think it's just an Elite Mook, or a random sub-boss, or...?

Yeah he seems to just be a sub-boss, I could be wrong, but he doesn't look like any villian in Batman.

Played through the demo twice and loved it.

I didn't really believe the free-flow combat when i first heard about it and thught it wouldn't actually be interesting but now i love it. hit first enemy, point left stick at person you want to die, mash, rinse and repeat.

The stealth is also top notch, walking behind someone and killing them will always be satisfying, especially when you are almost superpowered and have a fucking grappling hook.

At first i also hated the camera controls, but once you get into a fight they work beautifully, in fact. once you try to do anything they work beautifully.

Played the X-box demo a few times now, and it seems to be living up to the hype. Fingers crossed the full game will be just as awesome.

IMHO all the Robins for all of time have been douches. Nightwing was all right but they had better fucking bring back Wayne because Grayson as Batman is just damn LAME. I don't care what they say, it is LAME. Wayne is the only real Batman. Personally I think that this period with Grayson as Batman is only temporary. Wayne is not really dead and is coming back.

The Batman's apparent death occurs in Final Crisis #6 when he confronts Darkseid. Batman announces that he will break his "no-gun" rule while facing Darkseid. Wielding an Apokalips-made gun, Batman shoots Darkseid in the chest with a bullet made of Radion (the same bullet used to kill Orion), just as Darkseid unleashes his Omega Sanction, or the "death that is life", upon Batman.[84] However, the Omega Sanction does not actually kill its target. The Omega Sanction sends the consciousness of the target into parallel worlds. Although the presence of Batman's corpse would suggest that he is dead, at the conclusion of Final Crisis it is revealed that Batman has been sent to the distant past where he is able to watch the passing of Anthro.

I played through the demo yesterday, I enjoyed it a lot. A game that actually makes you feel like the goddamn Batman has been a long time coming, but I think Arkham Asylum could be that game.

Maybe now the reoccuring nightmares I've had every night since playing the Batman & Robin game will end.

*shudder*

IT'S OUT ALREADY?! OH MY GOD! [when is the game released? anyone know?]
Too lazy to turn on the Xbox. I'll download it "When it's done". Oh yes, you'll know the meaning when you are finally enlightened, which is, "when it's done".
August 25th for North America and August 28th for Europe.
August 28th Europe maybe but in Finland August 27th. choke on our awesomeness.

I like Dick, even though he shouldn't be Batman. I also like Tim, who should be Batman. Jason probably should have stayed dead, but what Loeb did with him in Hush, and his role in Battle for the Cowl are somewhat redeeming. Damien, on the other hand, is the most worthless character since the Dazzler.

Has anyone else found the riddler trophy's?

Or the action cam for the batarang?
Yeah, I found two trophies in the vents, anymore? Also, did you notice the green question mark on the window of the last room? You can only see it in detective mode.

The demo was pretty good, too short...

Anyway, I'll probably get it on release.

Apparently the pc version was delayed so nvidia could finish polishing their PhysX support which was supposed to allow things like realistically chipping a tiled wall.

That turned out to be a load of bullshit because in the demo potted plants and empty coffee mugs reflect batmarangs. They kill attacking sets of teeth and momentarily stun people, beyond which they only expose you to incoming fire. Graphics consist of Unreal Plastic in all it's texture popping glory. Controls are bad with the buttons strewn randomly across the keyboard.

This is either a very shitty port that's much better on the other platform or the console population is used to very low standards and/or are completely blinded by the fact that the game features batman.
