Was this plot written by a five year old? Cause none of it makes a lick of damn sense. My interest in this movie is still minimum at best, trailer has failed to excite.

Eh, this doesn't really hype me up. The worst part about this, I actually like these heroes.
I mean, I might watch it, but I'll see what the fans and reviews say about it.
So time will tell.

Yet writing this reply up, I just saw a leaked Deadpool trailer.
Now that is the movie I can look forward to.

Nice to know that I have to be a "Marvel fanboy" to not give this movie the benefit of the doubt.

At any rate, if there's anything that might convince me to watch this in theaters, it's the visuals.

I'm annoyed that WBDC is still going with the stupid grim and gritty tone

And that Snyder is still allowed near a director's chair

But this at least looks a little better than before

And hell, if nothing else I'll buy a ticket to just stare at Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck for two hours ///-///

So Joker knows Batman is Bruce Wayne, and the timeline is after the Death in the Family. Batman comes out of retirement to take on Superman, who is busy dealing with the fallout from the battle with Zod. Luthor (who has a really, REALLY bad hairdo) gets kryptonite and takes on Superman. The US military gets Zod's body. Wonder Woman shows up for some reason, and Batman goes to beat up some Superman worshippers in a desert. Aquaman supposedly makes an appearance, Victor Stone (Cyborg) makes an appearance...

Like holy hell guys, do you think you have enough in the movie yet? The plot looks to be all over the place. And they're STILL pushing that damn "Superman is Jesus" imagery.

Seriously, at this point the movie looks to be all about the visuals. And hey, if the visuals turn out to be enough for me to forgive/forget the shoehorned plot, then good for them. But at the moment, not sold.

Well it IS a Zack Schniser movie, all his works are visual-centred works.

Considering most of the internet made up its mind before it even started shooting it seams useless commenting. The reality is most will go see it because it's ruddy Batman & Superman in the same movie, then people except the entrenched will judge it based on the actual movie they saw.

Nice to see most people are begining to understand Batfleck is a pretty good casting choice. I suspect his 'origin' will be a small part of the film just for the 5 people watching who don't know get it.

People are questioning how much WW there is in the trailer I though she was only announced as smallish part anyway? Cyborg and Aquaman are just cameos.

Agreed not totally sold on Eisenberg but it's a wig those complaining about his hair.

Yes the metropolis lash back thing is probably written after the fact but if it gives Wayne motive and works in context of the story does it really matter?

Alot I like from the trailer it's really question of it can be the sum of its parts. MoS was for the first two thirds and then became dull as hell in overlong smashy action scene(I can forgive the story decisions but that didn't stop it being boring)

Forgot that The Escapist is MCU fan boy central. Everywhere else is going crazy for this and I think it looks awesome - like a DC comic book brought to life. That shot of Batman dodging the laser with a grappling hook was perfection.

I think it looks pretty good. Visually it's far more interesting than anything Marvel has shown so far in nearly 10 years of cinema. However it could get a bit messy and busy. Glad to see they're not glossing over the destruction of Metropolis in the last film. Hoping the Batman origin story is only short flashbacks, and the dystopian future with the Superman army isn't too prominent in the film either. I expect it to be Batman and Superman fight after Lex engineers a battle between them and Wonder Woman stops them to fight a greater enemy.

It's gonna be stylish and cool.
I very much dislike DC but the movie looks good. Most of the Marvel movies are basically just OK with just a few of them being great/good. Zack Synder has done nothing but make good movies in my book so I'm on board for anything he's directing. The only minor concern I have is the movie could be too busy but it also could just be due to how the trailer is cut as well, it is a bunch of snippets of the movie as that is what trailers are. I don't analyze trailers and just let the movie speak for itself when I see it. I'm even totally looking forward to Lex Lurther as well because I HATED Gene Hackman's Luther in the original Superman movies and Superman II is really the only one I like because not as much Lurther and no turn back time by spinning the world backwards bullshit.

Zack Snyder saw the backlash against the city destruction in Man of Steel and is trying to make it seem like this was the plan all along. Bullcrap, I say.
Uhh... That's where I figured they would take it after Man of Steel because the whole point of this Superman series is supposed to be about how WE would actually react to Superman existing. And, secondly, Synder didn't write the script.

So the person that directed the best comic book movie ever shouldn't be allowed near a director's chair?

Looks like The Dark Knight Returns meets the new 52 reboot.

Which is....interesting?

Looked pretty bad to me. More Jesus = Superman crap, Wasting more than a millisecond with Batman´s bloody origin again. Wonder Woman seems like an afterthought, which leaves me wondering how the hell she even fits into anything and Aquaman is also supposed to come in and say hi, god knows how.

But the real killer for me is Ma Kent´s "You owe them nothing" line. If anybody thinks this is brilliant, than you frankly don´t understand the bloody point of Superman, and leaving that aside, you just told an super powered alien to "not give a damn about humanity, because you don´t owe them anything", now explain to me how that does not give him pretty much all justification to become a despot if he so pleases or just leave the planet and so on. The point of Superman is that he was always the "most human" of us all, if you keep a clear divided between him being an alien and humanity who either worships him as a god or hates him to his core and his moral values are dictated by his nihilistic parents, than where the hell does the hero come from? Exactly, from nowhere.

Also, I´m tired of the hyper gritty crap DC seems to be pulling all the time. I want to see this when I see a Superman story

And all of this sequence

Ahahahah, I don't even know that much about comics, but this just screams "Lex Luthor obviously frames Superman, yet again" plot so hard, it's not even funny.

And how the hell is Zack Snyder still allowed to make movies?

Because he made Sucker Punch, obviously! An underrated and probably misunderstood gem[footnote]I'm not joking about Sucker Punch, actually...[/footnote].

The trailer: looks like an absolute mess - whoever wrote and directed that film cut that trailer seems to have no sense of self-awareness. It feels like a teenage boy's version of COOL. Nolan's The Dark Knight was dark psychologically, ergo its visual style suited it beautifully. Bats v Supes Dawn Of The Extended DC Universe feels like a parody of grimdark which apparently isn't a parody. It's like Snyder's Watchmen, 'cept without the backbone of vaguely interesting source material.

I actually really like the look of Affleck as Wayne/Bats, but Superman's an eternally bland and uninteresting character, and the idea of a 'realistic' flavoured Bats vs Supes film seems utterly ridiculous.

So, to conclude: it looks like a fan trailer culled from different films - and most of those different films were probably bad. Oh, and it doesn't look like Gal Gadot's finished her work-outs for the role... Maybe she can be digitally enhanced?

The trailer has made me concerned about the narrative, with Wonderwoman and Aquaman in, I'm worried it's going to be a unstructured clusterfuck (which wouldn't be atypical for Synder). On the other hand if the trailer had spoiled the whole narrative that would have been disappointing also.

A.k.a. Slow Motion and Speed Ramping: The Movie

Seriously, the guy has a very distinctive directing style, but you can't just apply that to every movie, Jesus.

I'm not sure I like the direction their going with this. I still think they're trying to cram too much into one movie, what with shoehorning Wonder Woman in there.
i'm too lazy to go look it up, but aren't they also having cyborg and aquaman be in this movie as well?

it just seems like way too much origin shit to put into a superman vs batman movie, and judging by the trailer the movie doesn't know what it wants to be.

honestly I'm usually really low maintenance for movies..but that trailer looked like a train wreck to me.

I think it's tackling some interesting themes, but I'm not a big fan of the hyper grim-dark aesthetic. Also it seems like they're trying to cram too much in.
