I told myself I'd stop harping on this game, but this did give me a laugh. Ah yes, a non-binary specialist. Hard to take this seriously when we could have just been playing as blank slate grunts or our own created character of any gender or race that we wanted.
I bet you that one was another EA choice and then have the company praise itself for having a "brave and progressive" idea/choice. Too bad Saints Row 2 and beyond beat you to the punch over 10 years ago. It's the same crap Ubisoft pulls off with their whole "This game was made by a team of international people, races, and genders", yet they still act like assholes to their devs and thing have not changed.

I think it's safe to say this will be a hard pass for me. Maybe I'll use that $60 on Halo Infinite or something

The gift that won't stop giving! I was surprised I hadn't seen this trailer even though I am subscribed to the Battlefield YouTube channel. Turns out, the feedback was so bad they made it unlisted. Not surprised, if you squint you'd think it was a Call of Duty trailer except worse somehow. Again, I'm just so confused at how badly this game is being handled on every front. They can't even do marketing right, Jesus.

Oh god dammit, here was me hoping they learned from BF5 (which I got for free on launch and still played less than three hours of) and were actually going to make a comeback as decent as BF1, at least. Hell, I'd be quite content with an HD upgraded remake of 2142. But no, we can't have nice things anymore.

Do you think kotaku will write articles that say teabagging this character is a hate crime?
Teabagging has long been a hate crime against the entire human race. And against good taste. Doing it to this poor sod makes them no different to the rest of us.

I was genuinely thinking though, this specialist is definitely going to be misgendered a shit ton. Probably by some very popular streamers, and that will definitely get some articles written. I wouldn't really blame anyone, when that specialist's information is hidden somewhere in the game. Being gender neutral with your callouts to your squad is also pretty confusing in general, especially when they've fucked target recognition to hell in this game.

I imagine a lot of people will call them a "she" because the character pretty obviously presents as female. And when you are running and gunning on the fly, I doubt it'll be easy to tell the difference between other female characters.

Then again, it's not like the computer program and fictional character can pop out of the screen to yell at you so.....

This and Call of Duty are both not reviewing particularly well this year.
Halo's time to shine I guess. Who could have seen that coming?

Anyway, pretty ironic that the reaction to Hazard Zone was underwhelming. They essentially designed the whole game around it, and yet I doubt people will be playing it a week from now.

I’m not the biggest Halo fan in the world but I don’t remember them ever releasing anything utterly borked or full blown unplayable. The PVP may have needed a few balance patches but you know how it goes; cows go moo, dogs go woof, PvP needs balance.

Well, that's because they delayed Infinite quite a bit after that disastrous reveal a while back. It's refreshing to see a company actually follow through on making their game better after a delay. But I was also referring the general decline of Halo as one of the big FPS shooters since Bungie left. I still think 2042 and Vanguard will dwarf Infinite, but at the very least in terms of goodwill, Infinite will probably take the cake this year.

No one is going to be playing Vanguard in a year, Call of Duty games are moslty disposable. A battlefield or halo title not doing well hurts both fans and the companies a lot more since those games are supposed to last for multiple years.

True. It's honestly not worth comparing CoD games to anything at this point. They're just too huge to fail, at least in the near future.
