Who knows? I might not be running Windows. Assumptions, ahoy!

Anyhow, im not trying to make myself feel superior. And im not trying to insult anyone. I said that I personally feel uncomfortable agreeing to these terms and conditions.

The response I got was "OMFG WHY THE FUCK U SO STUPID WUT U A PEDO OR A TERRORIST???? U GOT SOMTHIN 2 HIDE????" Its hard to be polite or reasonable when thats what people throw at you. Since you seem to lay so much value on politeness and being reasonable, I would have expected you to recognize this.[/quote]

The assumption was based on the fact that you want to play BF3 which, to my knowledge, doesn't have a client that works on anything but Windows. If I'm wrong, I apologise.

My point was that the EULA has been changed. It seems like from your response to DannyOcean that you don't want to believe that, but the fact still remains. Regardless, there are measures you can take to prevent it, like I outlined in my post.

As for the responses you got - It sucks I know. I just didn't like the part where you lumped everyone in the same category of "spine-less idiot", intentionally or not. I'm not going to attack you for your position - I'm just trying to tell you there are ways of using Origin without selling your soul to EA.

"Alright, we will take your information and we will do whatever we like with it, but we wont do anything with it that pisses you off. Honestly. We promise."
But it doesn't say that.

They can't do whatever they want with it, because they can't distribute it. I mean, what are they going to do? Give you a virus?

I understand if you're concerned they'll lose it, but they wouldn't be the first and they certainly won't be the last. Banks have been hacked, government laptops lost. You trust information to 3rd parties every day, why suddenly be so especially concerned when EA asks for it?

In all, I think you're being too cynical.

EA Fail. After months of scoring poitns at Activision's expense they release something as broken as this.
It's not released.

Anyway, it works great for me! I like the web-based interface, and the game launches and runs fine, although I do have it on low. All I need to do is upgrade a bit to play it on high and I'm set.

Haha, enjoy!

I don't see how anybody could forget BF3 :p

The whole origin thing does piss me off, but there's nothing I can do about it other than not get BF3, and I ain't doing that.
I will stop buying EA games if it gets worse though.

It's pretty awesome, they put real effort into making the "EA servers not available" screen nice and shiny.
Oh god, they're at it again. I'm guessing noone else in Europe is playing yet? Either that or I'm just doing Origin wrong.
The beta link in Origin won't work for me, so I guess they're not reading for us yet.

the beta has been released, don't be an ass. That's what I jsut spent an hour and a half downloading. It doesn't work. The game goes to print in a couple of weeks in time to be shipped next month and this is the state they offer to the public to see if they like the game? EA are either very lazy or very very fucking stupid.
A beta is not the same as a demo.

First off, it looks like shit (not that I care really, after all, I love MAG). Not just let down from hype ugly, like generic fps on original xbox ugly. That's big because that was such a huge selling point from their perspective . I'm not sure if this is because it's in beta, but you'd think this close to launch it would look great.
Either your tv isn't set up properly or it's just the 360, because all the gameplay i've seen looks great.

Also, there is a massive amount of bugs such as constantly falling through the map. Once you do, you're a sitting duck. This happened to me throughout the game. Any type of little hole or caved in ground will cause you to fall into the map. Also, actions from before I died like press x to swap weapon, or 100 pts, would stay on the screen for an obnoxious amount of time post death. I can't diffuse the explosives, I'm still at my spawn point!
It is the beta, they allow players in so they can find any errors within the game.

The controls have been pretty unresponsive. Running will randomly refuse to work and the spot system is out of whack. In addition, sometimes my gun just wouldn't fire for a moment, causing me to die due to the delay (not lag either).
This is most likely a problem with your controller, every time i've heard of someone saying the controls are unresponsive, i have had absolutely no problems with it at all.

I'm not sure why, but during my first couple of games, I was getting insta-killed as well. Not by snipers, but by umps. One shot, one kill. I think my k-d ratio was about 2-11 and 3-12 for the first couple of games. However, once I started to rank up, it got a lot better and soon my k-d ratio was between 2:1 and 3:1. It seems like they may have tied health into rank which I'm not a fan of.
They would not have tied health with rank, this would be a completely overpowered system that would give new players absolutely no chance at winning. You probably just got more used to the game mechanics, levels and started to die less.

You know, its actually worth looking into, im going to go and see whether theres a way of sandboxing it using Avast so Origin itself cant contact EA or send shit or whatever.

I would be very surprised if it works, since Origin needs to contact all kinds of things in order to let you play an ONLINE game, but eh. This is EA we are talking about. Competence is not something I expect.
Please, tell me if it works.
Also, could you explain sandboxing for me? I've never heard of it before.

It's when the program (Origin in this case) is being run isolated from the rest of the PC, so it can't do any harm. It's like in prison (lol).
PS. Origin won't let me download the beta. It's all frozen up. Maybe tomorrow or next week. :(

Major server issues on EA's side. You're not doing anything wrong.

I really want to test it out, but because of the servers I can't download it :(.

Like on a separate drive? Or is it done with software?

Software, like an anti-virus. Avast! (free) has this feature.

I'm enjoying it. I just wish they would unlock the Caspian servers, or at least spam passwords to Euro members since they're the only servers with slots!

I really love the gameplay for the most part, but there are a few major glitches I've noticed:

1) Major lag resulting in hit detection issues, some players skipping around and lagging out of games.
2) Unresponsive controls, where I try to run, reload or shoot and nothing will happen.
3) Sound cutting out for no apparent reason, eg not being able to hear bomb arm alarms.
4) Occasionally the reload animation will not kick in.
5) Falling through the map geometry is a ***** -_-
6) Problems with hit detection that may or may not be due to lag eg head shots not registering, knife kill animations delayed
7) Difficulty connecting to games - get a lot of "Cannot connect to EA servers"
8) The squad system is somewhat screwy, as it may split your squad into different teams to balance player numbers or force you to play with strangers.

And while this is not a glitch, I am just pointing out that prone and bushes are a fucking terrible comination. While I love prone for the sniping applications, far too many people will crawl through the bushes and SMG any poor bastard that walks past.

And in case this is somewhat relevant, I am playing on Xbox 360.

No, you don't be an ass.

A beta is not a demo. A beta is not the final game. Beta is the third stage of development, after initial development and the alpha. After this comes bugfixes, then release, then patches. There's still plenty of time to fix any problems. Just because it doesn't work now for you in particular doesn't mean that it wont at release, and it doesn't mean they've made a bad game, because it evidently works for millions of others. Did you consider that the problem might be at your end?

First impressions so far:

It's impossible to get into a game, every time it gets stuck on Joining Game... And the alt + enter buttons to go fullscreen don't seem to be working here either.

*crickets*

Yeap, that's it. I haven't played a game yet. Been trying since I downloaded it. Figured as much, everyone wanting to play at once and all.

The game is a lot of fun when you aren't dealing with lag, especially the Caspian map, feels so much more like the Battlefield I used to love so much. I like all the unlocks, good touches. The game runs excellent on my PC so that's a plus. My biggest gripe would be with Battlelog, it is a CLUSTERFUCK! They really should have done an in-game server browser, I would have rather have a little slower load time than dealing with the stupidity that is battlelog.

The one game I played so far left a pretty good impression on me granted I'm new to the BF series in general.

The graphics were nice but that doesn't say much about the gameplay.

Gameplay wise it felt like a mix between COD and Killzone. Glad to see they added prone, and I didn't experience any lag here in the US Eastcoast. The class that resupplies ammo (forget title) has a pretty powerful main weapon then again this is the same game that allows long range shotgun sniping.

Only thing I could really complain about is the laser and the flashlight effects. Its neat you can blind/be blinded by them; but not by your own teammates. I can see some asshole kid now running around flashing it in peoples eyes. I'm tired now (worked 3rd shift) so when I'm a lil more alert I can get a better feel for the game but right now it's about a B+

I haven't played the beta but from what I have seen it looks a lot more like COD now. Have they made it more similar to that because if so I may have to pass on this game.
