I am baffled at this "explanation". Most of my Steam games patch themselfs very well and I can get DLC too if I want them.
Do the Valve guidelines prevent other publishers from releasing proper patches or DLC to ensure customer satisfaction ? If so, I as a customer haven't noticed yet.
Perhaps it forbids Publishers from flooding their customers with unwanted, unnecessary and obstrusive messages about DLC ? God knows - that would be terrible indeed. Nothing like a weekly mail that reminds me I could hop around in a field of SAND instead of just plain Sand.
Game support works well enoug on steam. So this "explanation" is a complete and uther lie in the face of their customers...again.
The choice of DDistributor is quite simple for me : Which one offers me the games at the best price with the least effort required on my part.
Steam does so for me. While I didn't engage in the summer sale, they had unbelievably low offers during that time. I don't have to register with Paypal or get a creditcard either to pay on steam - so whenever I feel like it, I just press about 4 buttons and begin downloading a new game.
If origin WOULD offer a similar experience, and wasn't controled by Electronic Antagonists I would consider it.
But I won't trust EA not to run off with my money leaving me with a useless DLC code anymore.
