Everyone is drooling over it for the same exact reason why they drooled over Dragon Age: Origins and COD: Modern Warfare 2 and every Final Fantasy game -

ADVERTISING

Everyone saw all the pretty lights and fancy graphics and the hawt woman bouncing around and all the OBVIOUS Devil May Cry "inspirations" and were probably instantly sold on it from there.
DMC "inspirations"? It was made by the guy who made DMC... so are you inspired by your own work? Meh, whatever. That is like the Halotards saying that Avatar is ripping off Halo. Halo ripped of Aliens which was JC's work. I call it "ripp-off recurrsion"

OT: It is all a matter of opinion. I for one think that Bayonetta is the best game in it's genra. It far surpasses any DMC game and is on par with NG1 (better than 2). And of coarse this is my opinion.

I also think that inFamous was a boring grindfest with EXTREMELY repetitive missions. I also don't care for Halo. And again, just my opinion. We all have em. If it is not your cup of tea, move on to something you enjoy. In the mean time, I will be pulling out my kitana sword and shotgun heels (you gotta admit that is awesome).

While I agree with most of what you said, the game isn't horrible, but it did get much better as I played it more.

And I liked the music by the way.

My main issue is its gratuitous overuse of sexuality, I'm 26 and it comes across as a little immature some of the things the designers have made her do or say. I can imagine the voice actor reading the lines and thinking 'are they serious?''
I felt the same way. As I was playing it, I remember thinking the actual game mechanics were really good, as I was having fun playing it, but the presentation just felt a little juvenile to me. I mean I get it, but I just felt the entire time that this game was really designed with a young teenage boy who had never seen a naked girl before in mind. But once again, It's supposed to be taken as camp, it just was a little to campy for me.

No, I fail to see the attraction myself; although I haven't tried the demo. I never really got into the Devil May Cry series either.

If you thought for one second that any of the sexuality in Bayonetta was trying to be taken in the least bit serious, you really need to get your head examined.

but the heroin ruins it in Bayonetta.
Stop shooting up before gaming?
You are a hilarious person.
Aren't I though?

I didn't find the game all that great either. Real flashy and whatnot but I have never been able to enjoy a game with a female lead. Subconscious sexism I suppose. Plus the ***** has guns on her feet. WTF is that? She gonna shoot laser beams out of her teets later and drop grenades out her ass?
I don't think your sexism is all that subconscious there...

I didn't say that at all. What I DID say was while I liked the gameplay, I thought the presentation was a little too juvenile for my taste.
