Same here. When father and daughter finally had their reunion, a tear rolled down my cheek. I also had my heartstrings pulled when it showed Mayu's horrible past and why she became homeless.
Props to Bleach, FMA, Death Note and especially GiTS, Elfen Lied and Higurashi no Naku Koro ni.
I wonder if it would be cheating to use one by a British band, but well, it's their only song that I much care for, so...
Eden of the East; Falling Down by Oasis. Disillusioned/distopian tone. Rock.
Otherwise,
Vampire Knight ed 2. Vampire Knight has some decent op/eds but this is my favorite. Kind of a tragic/slightly creepy pop/rock.
Zegapain op. Ambient(?)/pop/light rock with a unique sound. The ed is alright, too, though I think it's closer to (but not) mainstream, which makes it less interesting to me.
Monster's op, Grain, is kind of interesting, but I won't post it. Sort of an ambient rock with pseudo-vocals. Slightly dark.
Ah finaly some dude with a better taste in ... anime openings. (Even though i don't really like your first choice - but the rest is all OK).
Let's see what we can add to this:
Gungrave -It's slick and calm and i don't know why... but cool
Then of course Ghost in the Shell, S.A.C (first and second one)
Also... i really don't like Hip-Hop (or whatever that is) but Samurai Champloo at least is different:
And i think the one of xxxholic is good enough, too:
i just started watching xxxholic and i must say with the visuals this song is quite trippy -_-
ALSO SABER-RIDER (yeah, sorry)
EDIT: Oh and no this is not my top-list. But you don't want everybody to parrot "Cowboy Bebop and Trigun of course" and such?
I'm now going to make it a point not to watch videos that weren't spoilered unless they were in the OP. If you cant be bothered to spoiler them, you're obviously just looking for attention, and messing up the page in the process.
Also the first Funimation theme song to One Piece. I'd show you a link, but all I can find is that crappy 4kids rendition. I'd say Lucky Star as well, but it was EXTREMELY misleading.
