I was going to agree with you, but then you had to pull out an RPG starring emotionally unstable main character #25 and his group of colorful friends trying to defeat bland gothic emotionally unbalanced bad guy with big sword #3.kungfujoe said:God guys, some of you are giving me a coronary.
HALO??!?!?
What, like we haven't had enough of Space Marines flying into space and killing everything in sight? Ever seen Starship Troopers, or heard of Warhammer 40K?
*sigh*, I guess there's no account for taste.
And nobody's mentioned FFVII?!

Same with Half-Life. God damn the G-Man and his incomprehensible goals. I'm still analysing his opening speech in HL2. Also kudos for making you love every single random NPC you come across (especially Griggs and Sheckley).
Portal and Half Life have no plot? WTF? The game is entirely about the plot, it just takes a lot of effort to uncover it and keep track of what is going on because the plot started with Half Life, was further developed through intricacies in Blue Shift and Opposing Force, had a new twist thrown onto it with Half Life 2 and the episodes while Portal contributed another aspect. Half Life is THE plot driven game.
