I don't mean like Warioware or Mario Party where the whole game is nothing but short distractions, I mean like an actual game.

First- Blitzball from FFX-- You can pretty much go through the whole FFX game and not have to play it other than when you are forced, but if you do this then you are playing the game wrong, Blitzball was a game in itself I would have to force myself to stop because I still need to play the actual game

Second- Pazzak from Kotor-- Now I didn't get into this as much as blitzball but I was easily distracted from Kotor after being challenged by some prick who declared himself king of pazzak while I, by obligation, had to beat him 20 times

Anyone else had an experience like this Or am I just easily distr....

I'd have to say Geometry Wars in PGR2.
Second. Geometry Wars is awesome, Especially the verion in PGR3. I wouldn't buy it off arcade though.

Also, QUB3D in Grand Theft Auto IV was cool.

Tin Pin Slammer is awesome. Triple Triad and QUB3D were addictive. Blitzball was a really nice thing I got into when I got stuck, and it would be an awesome game to get on its own.

If they tweaked the system a bit, added a bunch of content and some online play... I'd buy a full Blitzball game in a heartbeat.

I thought that too
Blitzball couldn've easily been a stand alone game
Side note- Is anyone else pissed about what they did to blitzball in FFX-2?

Like how you couldn't fucking play it? Yes, I was very angry. It just seemed so -lazy- of the devs.

Tough call for me between blitzball or hakox. I would buy a stand alone version of either one in a heart beat.

I am. I thought it was going to be like FFX. When I played it, I was like WHAT THE HECK? I never touched that again.
--------

Final Fantasy X had the best mini-game: Blitz Ball.

Triple Triad was such an awesome game. It's at least as deep as a game like Yu-Gi-Oh, and it was tied only loosely to the storyline so if you're not into CCG's you don't need to play.

Pazzak was alright. It's kind of like Blackjack. In fact, it's very much like Blackjack. Pity I'm not a huge fan of Blackjack...

On the whole, though, I'm not a fan of minigames in games. Especially if I really, really like the game. Like, say, GTAIV. It really bugged me whenever someone wanted to go play darts, or pool, or bowling or whatever. Those games are tedious in reality, and painful in GTA.

That said, I am a huge fan of those smaller, simpler games when you take them outside of other games. I have a whole section on my desktop devoted to games which are only designed to hold my attention for 5 or 10 minutes at a time. Stuff like Audiosurf [http://www.audio-surf.com/], Warning Forever [http://indygamer.blogspot.com/2006/12/warning-forever.html], Plasma Pong [http://www.fun-motion.com/physics-games/plasma-pong/], that sort of thing. A game I found and thoroughly enjoyed was Bubbletanks [http://armorgames.com/play/1920/bubble-tanks-2?referral=gameBubbleTanks2]; a cross between Asteroids and Space Invaders with an RPG-like upgrade system where you choose between paths. Another good one was Battleships Forever [http://www.wyrdysm.com/bfdownload.php]. The campaign was short and honestly not that involving, but I've spent a looooong time building custom ships and hurling them at one another through the editor.

Bully, classroom minigames, the art one was bullshit, but the rest were cool.
I thought that the Bike-making class was bullshit, and the rest were cool.
lol I forgot that one... yah the biking one was bullshit too.
Not least of which because it had a 20 second intro, and a margin of error of .5 of a second after that.
Yup that sounds about rite.....

Horrible memories returning...Rage increasing...

You won't like me when I'm angry.
