Dunno about 'best', but I was playing Fallout 3, and was in VATS, shooting someone with my Chinese Assualt Rifle, when suddenly a Giant Radscoprion corpse goes cartwheeling just in front of the guy, and blocks all my shots.

Random; yes.

I was walking across a wooden rickety bridge over a chasm in Crysis when a machinegun at the end of the bridge opened fire, I hit the deck(on the bridge) and the machinegun proceeded to shoot the supports, leaving me falling into the chasm below
My char actually started the skydive animation.

Awesome Indiana Jones moment

I was once playing Brawl with three friends and we were all fighting for the Smash Ball in a tiny area. I was playing as Captain Falcon and managed to get it and hit B straight away. A triple kill and much yelling followed shortly after.

Also playing MW2 MP and got stuck between four enemies with only my USP left. I had managed to get a claymore down before that and I killed three of them before the last one shot me in the back, though after that he ran straight into my claymore.

OK last one I promise. Again MW2. My team was down 7400 to 7100 (TDM) and I pulled out my Barrett and saw two guys crossing each other so I fired, the game ended. Turns out instead of two kills I managed to nail four of them and win the match.

Pretty much anything in the InFamous 2 demo. Once you get a hang of the controls you can pull off some wicked cool combos.

Oddly enough this one happened in the opening cut scene of Crysis Warhead.

Unscripted?! In a Cut Scene?!

I also had the old Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy radio play on, and just after the Truck Psycho is travelling in gets blown up Arthur Dent says, very sarcastically:

"Well Thank you Very Much!"

The timing was perfect, just enough of a pause and in just the right tone to leave me howling.

We used to play this game in GTAIV where you spawn the Annihilator helicopter, get a load of height and speed and throw yourself out of it, the objective being to land in the tiny lake in Central Park (or whatever the Liberty City version is). Well, it's almost impossible to do and never worked, but one time I handed the controller to a friend who's hopeless at video games but very intense about everything he does. He'd been giving out to us about how we were doing it wrong. Anyway, he gets up high and it's obvious he's going to overshoot. He banks the chopper hard to the right, flings himself out, Niko gets caught in the spinning blades and instead of overshooting wildly is blasted vertically straight down, dead... into the lake.

Other highlights included watching Niko pinball between two parallel skyscrapers and the odd time he came out of it with nothing worse than a sprained ankle.

My own personal favourite moment was playing Red Dead Redemption. I was going for the level 10 treasure hunter. I managed to fight my way through a tremendous storm all the way up that narrow trail to the top of the mountain, but as I dismounted to search for the treasure my trusty steed lost its footing and took a tumble off the side. I staggered back down to the base of the trail amidst the rain and thunder and started the long walk back to civilisation, only to catch a glimpse of the black stallion I'd been looking for for days. I chased it down and lasso'd it on foot before breaking it in the middle of the plains while lightning flashed around us. Great moment.

Best Random glitch ever. (If it's a glitch I guess it's unscripted.)

Red Faction Guerilla. I was doing a Collateral Damage mission in EOS when suddenly I see a brown streak speed across the sky and explode on a mountain. I go "wtf" and Jenkins keeps driving on. A couple of minutes later two brown streaks speed and collide in midair (by this time I knew they were gunships) and the area around me was strewn with wreckage and pilots "wtf'ing". Finally I get to the base, the mission ends and I know that I won't see the wreckage (it disappears after mission). As I jump off the cliff with my jetpack a gunship speeds across the sky towards my cliff and explodes right below me. It was going so fast when it exploded it glitched and left the afterburner flames right below me.

I love that game :D

Here is the afterburner http://steamcommunity.com/id/RRAS/screenshot/578926744421464957

That reminds me of another one. I was flying along in heavy metal and me and my mate go into raid the Russian base for choppers. I drop the blackhawk out from a rediculous height (so it blows up) get into the Hind. He goes for the Havoc but before he can get in it an enemy guy gets in. Just before he takes off I'm like NOOOOOOoooo and fly towards it, jump out and it smashes the Havoc into the ground, blowing both of them up.

One of the random events in Fallout 3 where the Wastelanders are arguing about water they found in a fridge outside certain buildings.

In one such case, I laid a bottlecap mine in front of a pair. Then, I walked to the leader, and put a live grenade in his pants. When he exploded, I quickly went to VATS, murdered two people thanks to Ol' Painless, then the pair (who were the only ones left) took a step forward and both of them killed themselves on the bottlecap mine I had laid for them.

Killed an entire group of Wastelanders in three seconds. Man, that was fun.

Had quite a few awesome unscripted moments while gaming, a few of my favourites have been;

While playing Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction, I was doing a mission to wipe out some North Koreans in a town. So for I call in for about 8 artillery bombardments and sat back as everything in the immediate area gets levelled by the incoming shells, while at the same time trying not to get hit myself. Amid all the chaos two NK troops spot me and begin running towards me, when I heard the whistling of a shell overhead which directly hits the first of the on rushing NK troops. Undeterred by the explosive demise of his comrade the second NK troop continues to advance towards me, so I pull out my rifle and line up the shoot. However before I could pull the trigger, a flaming wreckage of a vehicle fell out of the sky crushing the NK trooper and sliding along the street before finally stopping just a couple of feet away from myself.

While playing multiplayer on Timesplitters: FP, elimination, no radar, snipers only on the Siberia level. I was lining up a head shot on one of my friends who was on the dam, when he decided to do the most heinous of crimes of screen watching, so he grabs a nearby speed pickup and dashes across the dam mocking me "try and get me now". At which point I was able to adjust my aim and get the headshot just before he could get back under the damn. Best kill I ever done in a multiplayer game.

Best random moment I had was in Star Wars: Battle Front. I was a Dark Trooper and was playing on the Endor against the Ewoks. Right as I turn a corner an Ewok pops out, goes "Yaaaah!" and gets shotgunned in the face. Best. Kill. Ever.

Course there was also the moment where I stepped on my own Grenade. Forgot I threw it there.

In fallout 3, I came across a dozen dogs in one area (trust me, i checked the bodies afterwards).

Armed with my trusty baseball bat, I was victorious!

In RDR, I was being chase by a bandit after capturing the Boss and I managed to shoot the horse. The horse felled and the man landed headfirst into a pile of rocks killing him.

Never in my life did I laughed so hard.

Oh, but here one from GTA IV.

I remember that I hit a guy and he dropped a latte cup. A cop came over with his gun drawn. I picked up the cup and tossed it at the cop who drop to the ground shooting his gun. I climb a chain fence and ran to an abandon car, jack it and ride out of there.

Easily had to be playing World at War campaign with my friend. We got to Downfall on Veteran and in the main hall we decided that I would snipe from the balcony and he would proceed on foot to draw their attention. After some intense fighting and ridiculous shots (Never before had I enjoyed shooting the gas cylinders on the flamethrowers so much) we cleared the room. As we waited for the mission to progress, we looked around taking in our glorious slaughter. It was then that I discovered the only remains of an unfortunate soldier who had been close to a gas cylinder explosion: 2 feet perfectly parallel and spaced apart. I pointed it out to my friend and said, "Oh look, a foot soldier". Needless to say we died repeatedly in the next section while laughing at that.

Fallout 3. I was hunting Behemoths, and had killed all but one left in Takoma Park. I was high level, with good armor and weapons. The Fat Man I brought with me specifically meant for the elder Super Mutant. I flip on my Pip-Boy 3000's radio, and find the song "Mighty, Mighty Man" by Roy Brown. I start fighting through the Mutants, finding the Behemoth soon. I level the Fat Man in V.A.T.S. mode, firing the shot just as the song finishes, to the last lyrics "Yeah, I?ll stay on the job, until the job is done". The song ends just as the Behemoth is killed in a mini-nuke cloud. It was the BEST moment I had with that game.

The reason me and my friends kept playing halo 3 years after(other then just being with my friend) were the hilarious deaths. Not sure if that counts as unscripted though.

Oh, got another one. Just Cause 2.

I was bored and messing around in an airfield. In this airfield, a plane spawns in the hanger, taxi's out onto the runway, then accelerates and takes off. And this is the BIG fighter jets I'm talking about. What I like to do is jump on them, place a couple of Triggered Explosives on the wing, jump off and wait. As soon as the plane starts to accelerate for take-off, I trigger the explosives. I make sure never to put enough to destroy it completely, just enough to set it on fire. If timed right, the plane takes off, and explodes in mid-air. Another plane spawns, repeat.

One time, however, I was going back to the hanger to wait for another plane to spawn when the pilot's body crashed down right in front of my eyes! The plane had taken off and gone straight up in the air before blowing up, and the pilot had just kept going for a while before falling back to Earth!
