HOLY SHIT I THINK HE'S ON TO SOMETHING
But let's take this further, guys.
What about a game that plays the game for you!
Brilliance, no?!
I think this could be big.
Okay, I know it was meant as a ridiculious joka and all that, but I just can't hold myself!

Dude Blizzard's allready started on slowly turning WoW into that game =D
Yet again. I'm sorry, couldn't help it
WoW is like a chatroom with a game attached. That's how I treated it, anyway.
You're right! You're right! that's where they're heading! They just want to have a chat room. with bots that play the chatters characters. You know .. Just for the sake of having something to comment on =P

That would actually be a pretty fun idea. Take game like HL2 for instance. Have every chat-room member have a bot that play each diffrent Gordon Freeman characters, and have like a race on wich bot is the fastest to finish the game, Meanwhile you could talk with your friends, and make fun of each others bots =P

By the way. This is by far a new record, for quoteing the same person on as many threads at the same time as possible =P

It's like MST3K: The Video Game Era.
And you have a while to go. Me and, I think, Specter_ hold the current record.
Yeah .. I forgot to insert "for me" there.
Specter, you say? Ironicaly I'm quoting him too ...

Not even that hard to adjust the difficulty levels. For skill based puzzles, add a time-limit to make it harder. For platformers and physics, adjust gravity/friction. For RPG puzzles, as pointed out below, harder settings means that signs the player would otherwise see are hidden, and dialogue options can be more full-fleshed with more "piss the guy off" type options for people to mistakenly pick.
I'd like to see dialogue puzzles play out like that more, it seems like a good mechanic. Adding a timer to make a puzzle harder, however, is nowhere near adequate, and is actually one of my pet peeves. I'd rather see more complex and difficult puzzles on harder modes, but unfortunately very few developers are willing to go to those lengths.

Dont moan but I like the FPS difficulty settings that pop up, we've all seen them:

RECRUIT
TROOPER
VETERAN
ELITE

Those are the Killzone 2 difficulty settings, Recruit for the mainstream, Elite for the masochists. The reward for the masochists is a cool badge and a shiny trophy.

Bethesda does quite well with the difficulty slider, but even set to full, the game isnt challenging for the hardcore gamers, its still catering for the mass audience.

I like a game that is not out to get you, as long as it is fun.
Kinda like Kirby 64.
Of course, that game should have multiple difficulty settings...

But whatever. A good game is a good game, it doesn't matter if its hard or not, in my opinion.
