These are pretty good, yeah. Even my 5 year old PC will be able to run this, probably even on max settings. Only thing I miss is the processor, but I think a vigorous overclocking might help a little with that.

In case you weren't aware, Bethesda has previously revealed [http://www.bethblog.com/2012/07/13/a-look-at-dishonoreds-many-ui-options/] that the PC version of Dishonored will offer a number of exclusive features including a shortcut bar mapped to the top-row number keys which will give direct access to powers and items, a field-of-view slider and various options and "graphical toggles" that will let gamers take full advantage of their rigs. Yeah, it's good to be elite.
They're hyping these as "exclusive features"? I remember when it was just... what you did when you made a PC game.

Seems like my rig will be needing a processor upgrade in the near future, probably at the start of the next console generation. Well, time to start saving and training my willpower to resist the next Steam sales (winter?).

Also, GFWL? Really? I'm really, really, really disappointed. The worst part is that if I buy it from Steam, I will have to have both of the running. And buying a physical copy isn't an option considering that I would pay at least 30% more than on Steam.

So what's this game even about? I've been bored and watching a bunch of ZP episodes lately and the ad for this has been coming up a LOT (every time I'm not watching the ad for Oblivion Island, which looks like Alice in Wonderland crossed with a Final Fantasy cutscene) and from what I gather you're aaaa........ghost? Telepath? Someone who has magic and a shank. Beh, can't say I'm really impressed by it. Looks like another world rendered in the grey'n'brown spectrum...hell, even the music playing during those ads SOUNDS grey'n'brown.
Dishonored is... well how should I put it... it's everything that Skyrim should have had in order to be the best game of all times, but for some unknown reason didn't have.

But seriously, what have you been doing if you don't know about Dishonored? I would say it's even more hyped than Skyrim was. Which says a lot considering that it's a completely new IP.
It is GFW, not GFWL

This specs are for what exactly? What does this game have that warrants such a spec?

And minimum 5850 really?
For what? I'll understand if the graphics looks like the second coming of christ but they are not even at Skyrim level let alone Crysis 2.

Remembering I can run Crysis 2 on extreme on a W7 32 bit with a 2GB RAM and a 1GB ATI 5770 on a Core 2 Quad 2.4 GHz, I really don't get how this game has a higher spec than Crysis 2 or Skyrim.

These days the only thing on my PC that is different is that I run 4GB RAM and I still run everything flawlessly with some tweaking.

inb4 Hurr Durr RAMs are cheap.
They are but a 64 bit W7 is not, especially if you live in australia

I'm all for the PC GAMING Master Race ultra high spec rig when it is obvious what you're getting. but this game is a multiplat game with an okay graphics and a freedom of choice. None of which requires a spec above and beyond what is currently on the market

Maybe it can render above 60 FPS? I was thinking this too.

OT- Thanks Arkane Studios for remembering what PC gamers would like in their games. (Angry stare for From Software). Now we just need mod support and I have a good timesink for Christmas.

Wait, a gtx 460 is the base? My 9800 gt runs Skyrim just fine, and is perfectly compatible with DirectX 9.

ATI HD 5450 is fine, just make sure you have a good CPU and the OS to support it.

I'm sure it's just covering their tracks, requirements are rarely a good indicator, usually either way overboard or totally lying. same for some auto configurations in games.

I'm a bit less positive, i personally have a 5650m, and it scrapes by at 1366 x 768. and i know i shouldt compare notebook with desktop but i looked up the scores and they are in the same ballpark, rest of specs are ok,

looking for a new phenom II to replace my trusty x3 720, but dont really need to yet, dont think its bottlenecking my gtx560ti.

Edit: with scraping by i mean in games like call of duty bo, world of tanks (although that game has an awfull engine) but now i think of it, it does run pretty well with ue 3 games like bioshock.

The lack of windows XP support is a dealbreaker for me unless they release a patch that makes it XP compatible.

Dude it says in the OP that a 5850 is the minimum.

If the game can offload GP to one of your CPU cores you might be ok, but don't expect anything fantstic.

These are the most reasonable PC requirements I've seen in forever and the game looks fantastic, and what's this "master race" bullshit? Games will require the specs they require.

(Apologies if you're obvious troll).

See, From Software? This is how you do a PC port. Day one purchase for me.
yes because a company who's made nothing but console games and is first time in pc games can really match a company who made pc games since their beginnings
O.T. Hmmmm might be able to run it on min at least but wait for reviews

I doubt that Geforce GTX 460 and 5850 are the real minimums. I mean, is says the same exact thing for the recommended specifications; is there no difference? No, at its heart this is still a console port and the minimum requirements wouldn't be that high. At worst a Radeon HD 6570 or a Geforce 430 could play the game smoothly, at a low resolution and reduced effects. The recommended requirements make sense though.

As for the poster who said they have a Radeon HD 5450 -- nope, that will not cut it. You won't even be able to run the game smoothly at 720p; you would be better off playing the game on consoles. I would recommend upgrading to a Radeon HD 6570 or better if you get the chance, because you'll definitely see an improvement.

Anyways, these are good initial signs. Being able to adjust the field of view is a must for any good PC port. I don't expect it to really push the envelope graphically, as it is just a third-party Unreal Engine 3 game, but high resolution textures is always good to hope for. And no, this doesn't seem to be a Games for Windows Live title (thank God). I would bet that it's a Steamworks title, as other recent Bethesda games have been -- you buy the game, activate through Steam, get Steam achievements, cloud saving, etc. (and you don't need the disc in your PC to play it).

Have you been under some kind of internet rock for past weeks? Dishonored is what all the latest buzz is about in terms of freedom of choice, open world and fun ways of killing your targets with swarms of exploding rats!
And I would call it more gray and silver/steel than gray and brown :p (Seriously, haven't seen much brown in those trailers)

If you want to know what the game is about, search the escapist a bit. There have been several front-page news about it in the last month.
Someone is going to be disappointed. Arkane have said that the game is going to be linear with a lot of choice in how you play. Don't go in expecting an open world though, it is level after level. Think of it being like Deus Ex in that respect.

I highly doubt those graphics cards are the minimum, since they are top of the line. Otherwise, pretty darn simple specs, and the hotkeys sound awesome
