I thought that they ran in a range from a bluish white to straight up black, with an olive color in between. Of course, I'm pretty sure the ones in Daggerfall and Arena were black, as in Drizzt Do Urden, not as in President Obama. As for the brow ridges, I don't remember them being particularly defined, and if they were, not quite like this -- Neanderthals would envy these guys. As for the ears, I don't remember them being shaped quite like this in any of the earlier games. Long and pointy, sure, but not boxy like that.

Maybe I took dark skinned a tad too literally, but I was sure that it wasn't up until Oblivion that I saw the really blue ones. Though nobody said that the Dunmer in Cyrodiil were necessarily all from Morrowind and so the different environments might affect their skin.

I'd say they're pretty similar, though it doesn't help that most past games don't have decent imaged to compare. The most I've got is that one picture above to compare and Morrowind NPCs. Though I'm not sure whether or not they just had ears like the Bosmer.

But I think the eyebrows have always been pretty prominent. Plus it looks like the guy in the OP's picture is in mid attack, so it might be the experession and angle that makes it look that way. Either way it's an improvement over Oblivions very underwhelming Dunmer.

They aren't particularly dark. Maybe their skin got lighter from being in a cold/less sunny climate.

I think he looks alright. It seems that the non-human races are getting major visual overhauls to actually make them look like another race not just a recoloured human. However, putting it on the record, not a big fan of the new orcs.
