Stupid question, do Argonians and Khajiit still have tails? I can't tell from any of the screenshots I've yet seen to tell any evidence of it. That or I'm very inept and can't see something obvious.

If the plot revolves around you being one of the Dovahkiin , what logic is there in making the protagonist anything but a Nord ?

It seems nonsensical to me.
"Dovahkiin" aren't just Nords. The Septims were Dragonborn, and they were very much Imperials. Besides, you could always take the literal route and play an Argonian... :)

Why wasn't this in the article? Nowhere on the internet have I found a complete collection of all the character shots.

She does look badass though, although the same blind eye and hair as the original orc screenshot is a bit disconcerting...

Even if fighters did have sleeves, I doubt they'd come in size XXLBB. That redguard looks stoic but freezing. Or perhaps just abominable. Sasquatch after a shave.

Eh doesn't matter what the other inferior races look like, only the Argonian master race matters.

Awesome...

Finally, not everyone looks like a bunch of chubby-faced idiots.

More importantly though.... did they fix the body models for the Khajiit & Argonians so that their legs are PROPERLY contoured, like in Morrowind?

That really bugged the crap out of me.
The legs are actually like that in other elder scrolls games. Morrowind was the odd one out in the series when it came to the beast races.

Superb work! Can't wait to see some models that actually have more then two minutes spent on creation. Definitely playing as some of the races I have yet to try. Orc is a must!

Well then.... looks like I'm the asshole..

.. Having played Morrowind first (and none of the previous titles), it remains my benchmark.

But I also believe that Morrowind is superior to Oblivion... so in other words: Be more like Morrowind, Mr. Skyrim.

What race is that one on the 9th picture? Breton or Imperial? Actually, now that I think about it, what is the visual difference between those two races?

Mostly, voice and proportions. The Brentons where the slightest of the races of men, with Imperials being larger and stockier, and Nords taking the honors for generally being the biggest.

Honestly, I'd agree with you, but I understand the work that would be involved in making that happen. In Morrowind, it was rather easy. All of the body parts where segmented, any given character was just a floating set of armor/body pieces connected by an animation skeleton rig. So getting all of the armors to work for the Argonins and Kahjit with that setup, Bethesda just didn't let them equip the foot segments. So they where all baerfoot, the problem was solved not by remodeling specific Argonian/Khajit footwear, it was solved by omitting them. Now ask yourself, would that fly now? Given the level of graphical fidelity with the cirrent engine, could they get away with that? Nope. So to get unique bone structure for two of the playable races, would require remodeling every armor set in the game (I believe that they're condensed the armor set pieces again).

I agree with you, that I liked how they where in Morrowind. But all things considered, they have limited time and money to put into development. Keeping all of their skeletons the same allowed them to simplify the work load for the armor, and instead they put more effort into giving them all good looking and racially distinct facial features. Considering how much more you look at somebody's face rather than their feet, I believe it was the right call.

Still, in a perfect world (time and money being no barrier), I'd wan't to see Morrowind style Argonians and Khajit.

Wow they acutually look really good. Better than most character creators I've used, especially the one in Oblivion. Most characters in Oblivion look just silly, so I'm happy that they'll look much better in Skyrim.

Bethesda, the salt of my gaming earth, please do not disappoint me, when all others do.

Keep on being unique, amazing, and keep your business practices in line with what you have done in the past.

I will continue having your babies. And yes, that bosseyed Dark Elf who managed to complete Arena is still in my hard drive, a little platinum nugget.

These characters, while not AMAZING and sporting 1 googolplex polygons, are very climactic and do honor the tradition of the franchise. I applaud you for that. Skyrim's preorder burns within my soul.

Ah, and thanks for the fellow posters who posted some female characters. Since I only play with females, that was a welcome sight.

Awesome. The Khajiit don't look like pussies this time (ba-dum tish!)
That was terrible. But clever. :)

OT: Holy-?! Argonians that actually look like bipedal lizards? STOP THE FUCKING PRESSES!! Finally, they don't look like mutants anymore. Thank God.

The argonians are looking like actual reptiles!??. Definitively day 1 purchase.
Reptiles have boobs?

Nah, seriously, the argonians and khajit in particular doo look great. I'm not too keen on all these bearded elves though, and where are all the other females?

Well hells bells! The Argonians are back and better than evar!!! My one irk is that they are not digitigrade. A nice cosmetic difference that made them even more unique. Oh well, mod tools fix that and... AHEM!!! Enhance the characters in certain ways.
Yes, like removing the mammary glands and perhaps enhancing the gular fold which is more species appropriate in reptilian based races.
