well this may be a slightly far-fetched way of thinking but barbed wire evokes World War One a bit. You know, it being just about everywhere around the trenches. In fact some of the most used battlefield tactics of WW1 all involved barbed wire. No machine gun nest was complete without it. The early 20th century music thing also helps the theory.

WW1 is a setting almost completely unexplored by games so this might just be wishful thinking on my part but wuldn't it be awesome? Think about it.

A game taking place during World War I... perhaps?

I dunno, I think that could be interesting.
Aye im guessing the same thing but i jumped to the second world war, vinyl records and barbed wire do push to that time period either the first or second world war.

Wolfenstein game maybe?

However I'm willing to bet it will be something horrible like Fallout ONLINE.

No Fallout 4 is a shame. I really loved 3, and unlike most here it seems I don't much care for Obsidian.

God knows what the video is teasing at, I sure as hell can't figure it out.
You are not alone. I can't deny the far superior dialogue and conversations in New Vegas, but everything else about it was bland, strangely-empty, and off-putting compared to F3.

I recall Bethesda tweeting a picture of Corvo a few days before announcing Dishonored. Hopefully we will not have to wait to long to get some answers.

They published Dark Corners of the Earth. They might still have the Lovecraft license.
What Lovecraft license? Isn't the Cthulu-verse public domain by now?

Agreed!

We seem to be in the majority but give me New Vegas over Fallout 3 any day!

Air to G-String 3 in 1 is all I get out of it without breaking my eyes or my brain.

Maybe I'll try later today. After more coffee. Just a cup. Or two. Or three. Or a dozen.

It will be, but it'll be okay when they do it, because...Ponies.
With complementary Horse Armor. They learned their lesson, honest!

OT: No clue what it could be, but what I got out of it was an auto-starting and auto-looping video that thankfully muted itself on opening. >.>

I wouldn't really call myself a Bethesda fan though. I like a game or two that they've published, and Skyrim was fun for a little bit, but I've never been able to get into any of the other Elder Scrolls games or the Fallout games they've published.

I think it'll have something to do with Time-Travel.

Lovecraft licence? Isn't Lovecraft public domain now? From what I read his works from before 1923 are all public domain, but his works since are subject to controversy.

Beat me to it.

I enjoyed Dishonored though, so I say let Obsidian handle the old IPs and Bethesda hit up some new ground.
You have exactly two examples and no more. That isn't enough data to objectively qualify which company would make a better Fallout the next time around. People are split on which game they like better and Obsidian had a Hell of a pair of shoulders to stand on in the second iteration of the modern Fallout series.

Meaning, Fallout 3 had to be newly created from scratch in all but the original theme. Anything they kept in had to be dramatically redesigned and a significant amount of resources went into creating a proprietary game engine. Obsidian was then given these resources with Bethesda as their publisher as well as their guidance. When you're not creating a game from scratch then you've got a hell of a lot more freedom (resources: Money, People, Time) to put more effort into polishing the existing engine and developing the story.

So the remaining question is which company would be better at redesigning the entire game world for the next generation of console? Bethesda is the one for that. There is practically no other company that is better at creating a sandbox for developers and modders to run wild in. However, there's no harm in hiring a few of the best writers that New Vegas game (Chris Avellone is practically gold right now).
