I have asked others to list their objections so I could understand their opinions. Your response seems to be "Because idealised men are designed to appeal to men, whereas idealised women are also designed to appeal to men, which is not fair."
If there is a lack of fanservice to women, that is a serious problem. It doesn't mean that fanservice for men is morally wrong, which is why I don't understand the objections to big breasts in games.
Moreover, what do you think an idealised woman that women would want to be like would look like?
I apologise if my tone sounded confrontational there, tha wasn't the intention but probably came across as such.
I don't think ANY fan service is right, these people SHOULD be making game for the love of it the beauty tha they can create, but the purDuit of the all mighty dollar usually stops that.
I think that people complain more because, when women have large breasts in games, they tend to have no personality. I mean, look at that annoying character from X Blades compared to, say, Jade from Beyond Good and Evil. The former is just a shallow shell of a personality, created to be tantalising and desirable (I know, bizarre, right?). By focusing on one thing and neglecting the rest, the developers create these characters to appeal to a certain market nstead of making them appealing to women too.
For reasons I won't go into, this is partly why I adore Bayonetta. She's presented in a sexual way (hells yes), but she has a developed personality which makes her appealing not just to horny games (make or female).
Thing is, someone is ALWAYS going to complain about some part of every character, you can't get away from that. But if these characters had large breasts but an actual personality instead of just wannabe fapping material, I think people would have fewer complaints. Women don't have to have large breasts to be appealing and, likewise, women don't need to have small breasts to be allowed a personality. There's no denying women have 'em (so im not saying to hide them away), but they need to find a better balance.
In the same vain, then, do you think there are any characters (male or female) who truly represent reality? Yes, we play for escapism, but as you say, who looks like Marcus?
Do you get sick of male characters being objectified (in whichever way)?
