I've only seen maybe an hour of snippets from the series, but... Without even knowing his name from there, or how he looks from here, I know exactly who he is. I've yet to really become invested in it, but... DAMN he's an asshole.

Err... Biggest douche? Aside from Geoffrey Lannister, the spy from TF2. *grumbles*

Yeah man, that guy was such a douche. I mean, he was some punk who just lost someone he cared for deeply, but tried his best to remain optimistic while others decided to break down, took the blame for many events that wasn't his fault whatsoever and overall just tried to save everyone he knew and generally be a selfless guy. It's not like anyone else in the game ever made rash decisions, like Hope trying to kill snow for a faulty reason or Fang nearly getting the entire team killed, or Lightning who continuously keeps screwing up.

What a total asshole. It's not Lightning or Fang who are the irresponsible morons who blame everyone for their problems, it's the guy with an actual backbone.

If it makes you feel any better I hated everyone in that game

I disagree with you on that one. He faced many great sorrows and it nearly broke his spirit. Not only did he manage to face the strength of Sauron and not be corrupted (Much unlike Saruman), he faced the death of his son. No, the character was a man, not a douche.

He was a giant asshole to Faramir and to a lesser extent Pippin though.
Or was that movie-only stuff? I haven't read the book in years.
Boromir was the man for me, because unlike most of the fellowship he wasn't some flawless magical superhero with absolutely no flaws.

If I were Faramir, I'd have decked him. Then as I was being taken to be hanged, my last words would be "worth it".

It amazes me how he seemed to put up with that for years. Denethor wasn't even subtle about it... at least he showed some love towards the end. While he was going cookoo pants.

I was in a bit of a bad mood when I wrote that down and now that I read back through it, I feel that it was a bit too asshole-ish and defensive, so I'm sorry about that. I really don't care about FF13 or any of its characters and I will agree with your post, as I hated everyone as well...Vanille and Lightning in particular .

Could I kindly ask you to elaborate though? The fact that Snow is such a hated character, while the likes of Lightning is loved is something I don't yet understand. It appears that people really hate his "Save everyone and be a hero" attitude, but seeing as these moments are a way for him to cope with all that happened and keep his spirits up/stay optimistic and motivated, made it far easier to me to deal with it. If you don't feel like it, feel free to ignore my post.

First off no worries I was not offended. As for Snow I cannot really explain. I just really dislike him but then I dislike everything about that game. In many ways he was similer to Tidus from FF 10 and while he could be inoying I liked him.

It all come down to I dislike the story off FF 13. If Snow had been in another FF it is possible that I would not have minded him so much. I mean Zell from FF8 and Steiner from FF 9 were douche bags but I loved them and the way there charcters grew.

It's precisely because he has no convictions that I don't consider him as much of a douche. He's just so weak it's kind of sad and pathetic. The others took active steps in wrongly convicting him, so they were being massive douches. Caderousse is just a massive pussy.

He skyrocketed to the top of my all-time hated list. I hate this guy more than stalin. I hate this guy more than hitler. I hate this guy more than my neighbor who plays bad music loudly at 4 AM. After Joffrey Baratheon, the biggest douche in fiction would be Nathan from "Misfits." When my friend made me watch the pilot episode, Nathan was my biggest problem with that TV show. That character is almost never serious, picks and mocks everyone, constantly craves attention, does stupid random stuff, lacks empathy, and thinks he is the best and the most awesome person alive. And in addition he is the "fan favorite." I wonder why do people like this guy, and why did none of the characters punched him, after spending a few hours listening to the guy.

I think he's the fan favorite precisely because of his douchiness. Watching him be a total obnoxious asshole to everyone (while still remaining funny) is the only thing that made that show watchable. He's not in the current season; not surprisingly, the show got really boring, really quickly.

Anyway, as for my contribution: I doubt I can pin down the very douchiest of fictional characters, but this guy is a pretty big douche.
