I'd say either Saints row or any Halo-killer on PS3, like Haze or Killzone. All of which are peices of shit chock full of American foreign policy
Why you gotta be hating on Killzone?
Because Killzone is shit. Don't bother arguing otherwise, you have zero chance of changing my opinion, I don't have a PS3 so there's no point me buying it, the concept is unoriginal, the characters bland and stereotypical, it's target audience is suburban midland American 14-year-old boys with parentally-diagnosed ADHD (ie - being a shithead disorder) who listen to Korn, Disturbed and Slipknot and claim to be "metalheads".
It.
Is.
Shit.
There's no discussion, no debate, no back-and-forth flame war that will arise out of this.
It's shit.
So are Haze and Saints row, for the same reasons.
Ok, I personally think that Killzone was highly overrated, but having your first reasoning be "I Don't own the system it's on" is pretty lame. I would also suggest that you accept there are many different styles in gaming. Not everything will appeal to you, and not everything you like will appeal to others. To complain that something's style or theme sucks is just showing that your a pompous ass about your opinions. I didn't like Killzone's constant "Sit here and defend yourself for 10 minutes while we open a door/wait for back-up/plant a bomb" type of missions but I could at least accept that it had good graphics, solid gameplay, and a few damn epic level moments. Of course the multiplayer was COD4 lite. In the case of Saint's Row, the first was a blatant rip off of GTA, but you have to admit the second one changed it up to set itself a part, and did a pretty damn good job of getting the fun factor down. Now before you start to peg me as that stereotypical American gamer, my favorite games are Gitaroo Man(Parappa sucks in comparison), Ninja Gaiden Black(Sigma was a terrible remake and II was a broken sequel), Grim Grimoire(Odin Sphere overshadowed this MUCH better game), Phantom Brave(Disgaea is awesome, but this one had more sympathetic characters and was their first push at gridless strategy), and Phantom Dust(Let's see Magic or Yu-Gi-Oh! pull this off). Punch Out! and Red Faction are some new favorites too. Blaz Blue is also awesome, but Arcana Heart is the best 2d fighter I've played. Is that too varied for you?
Oh, and just cause a games a shooter doesn't mean it's a Halo clone. This includes Killzone. The only games I've really seen mimic halo way too much was Republic Commando and Darkwatch, both of which were still pretty fun. Now Gears of War, there's a game that's getting way too many low quality clones. Dark Sector, anyone?
Just cause something uses an idea doesn't make it a clone. Regenerating health was a great idea and was decidedly put into play everywhere to replace health pack hunting, and I'm sure everyone is grateful for it. Now that we're in the next generation, it's all about the cover system(not started by Gears, but defintely perfected close enough to show it's usefulness to everyone)
