Sigh...I was looking forward to playing this game later this year. Hope this delay is worth it. Good call on the E3 stuff though. Pity we won't get to see it, but the reasoning behind that choice is pretty, well, reasonable.
Pretty much this. It's a shame about the delay but I'd rather have them give the game a proper polish as to rushing it out with any major glitches in it. Oh well, the backlog of games and books I have should keep me busy till then.Legion said:I am glad some developers still put quality above getting a quick release to get money sooner. It's just a shame that it happens to be the only game being released this year that I was actually looking forward to.
Not casting any aspersions on the impeccable writing staff at The Escapist but I think that source isn't so reliable for how it claimed we'd get a playable demo way back in 2010 and it did say "isn't expected to be released until" which isn't "it WILL be released in 2012". You could almost interpret that as "not before 2012". It wasn't in quotes, I think the journalist just got the impression it wouldn't be released in 2011 and assumed 2012.IamQ said:Why yes, the more exact release date came this year, but if you read this articleLordmarkus said:The release date wasn't revealed before March this year. It was unveiled in August 2010, which was a bit early but at least it wasn't leaked like every fucking game nowadays. Remember, Dragon Age: Origins was announced in 2004 but didn't came out before 2009 and it turned out to be rather excellent.IamQ said:Wow, really? The game's 2012 release was announced in 2010. from August 2010 you shall see that it says:
A playable demo should be made available at GamesCom next week, though BioShock Infinite isn't expected to be released until 2012
What say you now good sir?
I have bad news for you, Ken....WMDogma said:Because Andrew Ryan's golf club didn't have exactly the right swing.
That's expectations, not exactly a possible date. It just says a possible year, and that isn't even directly from the publisher. a release date is an actual date, given by the publisher, expecting that will be the release time. It is generally signaled in a standard format, either month/year or month/day/year. Just typing year is an estimation.IamQ said:Why yes, the more exact release date came this year, but if you read this articleLordmarkus said:The release date wasn't revealed before March this year.
