nice trailer but now its officially being milked to death
Not really. It's only three games. If this was the sixth game, then I'd say that they're milking it. And something is only being milked to death if it's titles are getting worse, which I don't think is the case here.

Good trailer, looks like it might be a decent game too. I am a bit worried their going to wring the life out of this franchise though. Currently, it doesn't feel like they're leaving enough time to breathe between sequels; how long can they keep it up before they're no longer bringing something new to the deal?

Gift.
Bioshock - 2007

Bioshock 2 - 2010

Bioshock Infinite - expected to release sometime during 2012.

I think they're having plenty of time to breathe between the sequels.

This seems like it will be great. I don't like the name though. That actually kind of hurts how much I want it.

When the steampunk Golem thing grabbed the women, was it just me or was her reaction a tad cartoony?

no, its being milked to death, you can tell because this is either a prequel or a re-imagining of the series, if it was a sequel that came after the other 2 then it wouldnt be

I still say that Rapture is Columbia fallen into the ocean.

It's the only way we can tie it to the Bioshock universe, without there being some plot twist that the guy who built Columbia is Ryans father or something.
I don't think they are going to tie it to the Bioshock(or should I say "Rapture") universe. The synopsis makes it sound like Columbia isn't a secret from the rest of the world, making this game an alternate history. I don't think Rapture is part of it.

The only reason it still has the name "Bioshock" (which was never a term specific to Rapture, btw. I mean, other then the title, it never actually appears in the game) is because it's the same basic idea: Very opinionated people with superpowers in a steampunk, isolated city.

Incidentally, I think it's going to be awesome.

What I find interesting is that the concepts being explored this time aren't the selfish whims of Objectivism, but the runaway jingoism of ultra-patriotism. It's a good thing to have pride in your country, but this looks more like a place run, not by Andrew Ryan, but by Senator Joe McCarthy.

I wonder if it will continue to have the little sisters? For me, the funnest parts of both Bioshocks was rescuing them. If its a prequel to the original Bioshocks then probably not unless they are called something else and are a place holder for the sisters.

It's all explained in Bioshock 2 though. Apparently Rapture was built underwater, it didn't fall in. I mean, there are no tubes in this video, and I doubt those things could effectively fall into the ocean, even from very close. They don't even seem watertight.

am i the only one feeling the "humans" looked very cartoony... like a pixar movie?
Agreed. And the bad-guy thing is massive. Look how big its arm is compared to the woman on the balcony!

Ok thats all fine and good but why did they have to call it Bio Shock again? I thought the whole [blank]-shock was supposed to be a theme. There aren't any air or sky related shocks they could have called it?

Have you seen the Call of Duty Franchise? That my dear sir has been milked to DEATH.
never said it hasnt been altho the one thing Ill give it is that all the games are independent of each other, well aside from mw2 which took the somewhat realistic plot of cod4 and turned it wacky

Toto...I don't think we're in Rapture anymore!

Now this looks interesting. This looks like he way to make Bioshock interesting again...Not make it Bioshock by anything but name. It might as well be called Airshock. Kind of like how Final Fantasy takes you to a different world every game but keeps the simular in gameplay and theme.

I'm excited for this game, which I couldn't say for Bioshock 2. I hope to be as intregued as I was when I first stepped into Rapture.

It will be interesting to know if this is actually still a horror though. If they manage to pull of scary in such an open and sort of cheery enviroment I'll be very impressed, though they could always use virtigo as this trailer does to great effect.
