YES!

New sequel, as far away from the original setting as possible (Space doesn't count) with a human player to give it an organic feel exploring a high flying steampunk world based around the culture of early 20th century, high class uber patriot America.

Good trailer, looks like it might be a decent game too. I am a bit worried their going to wring the life out of this franchise though. Currently, it doesn't feel like they're leaving enough time to breathe between sequels; how long can they keep it up before they're no longer bringing something new to the deal?

Gift.

I don't care what anyone says about this, first bioshock was awesome, second was at least fun to play and I personally liked it. THIS one will be one of my favorite games EVAR!!... Can't wait.

This looks pretty awesome, and looks very steampunk which is a art genre that seems to be left out of gaming.

I was actually expecting like a space setting of Bioshock, where Big Daddies have taken over a space station or soemthing, but this is just as good.

So this is the "true" sequel we were supposed to get from Bioshock 2?
No, that would involve playing as Eleanor, and that doesn't sound as pleasing.

OT: Well, 2012 looks great for me..

OH MY GOD. this looks amazing. this is what bioshock is about. ya see. the reason i bought the first game: amazing under water world. i havent bought number 2 yet, because, while bioshock 1 was great, bioshock 2 was just more of the same (that being said i will buy it eventually) but this bioshock is a return to new. it looks awesome.

Who makes a boss suit that has a beating heart in a glass jar on display...

I ask you!

Oh well, at least this society looks like it's living, not dystopian. Might be the first Bioshock game I'll ever buy.

My first opinion about the game was that it kinda looked like a Pixar movie.
I also didnt want it, but after I saw Irrational Games (didnt see it first time -.-), I disgressed

I like the idea behind the game and it does look really cool but all they're doing with the name is using it as a selling point to get more people. Lets be honest can it really be Bioshock without Rapture?

This is a very smart move for the franchise. Rapture is rapidly running out of plausible new characters, social movements and locations, so a new setting is necessary to refresh the storyline.

Because Bioshock was so constrained in design, you can add your competitors' features (non-hostile NPCs, weapon customization, female sidekick) and advertise it as "new".

A floating city allows you to do tiny corridors, crumbling-architecture set pieces, and all the other technical tricks that left Bioshock with so much room for visual excellence.

The only problem with this plan is that audio diaries become even more unlikely. Where am I going to get my bite-size chunks of dialogue?

I'm have to say I'm really excited about this, but I'm also really skeptical. The original Bioshock is one of the best story-driven shooters around. I felt the second was lacking, but as I got further the story started to grow on me and I can honestly say I wasn't too disappointed. I think they're making a good choice in a change of setting. It gives the players something new to experience. In the first game you had the ominous feeling that the entire world could just come crashing down on you under the pressure, but in the sky there's the possibility of an entire building falling out of the sky or just like in the trailer, you could be hurled out of a window. I'm excited, but I'd like to find out more before I make a solid decision.

Okay, I was cynical when I first read that but having watched this trailer, you can colour me intrigued. Definitely liking the aesthetic of this new city.

I'm not too great a fan of the title though...can't yet see what relevance this "Infinite" would have to the game and really, for me, Bioshock will always be Rapture. Of course, brand recognition is a much stronger force that originality...

hate to burst some people's bubbles here, but Bioshock was already steampunk, since the original game
the only difference here is that the city isnt fucked up by the time you arrive and by not being fully underwater, there's more sunlight in the ambience and you can actually see the aesthetics

although I will give you guys some credit, steampunk in this one is more, idk, concentrated? heavier? idk how to say it, but it's more than in the original 2 bioshocks

anyways, yeah, I'm looking forward to this, I'm ready to pick up my wallet and spend off the $200 it WILL COST here, yeah that geek I am =P

Well, it IS shocking, and ADAM and EVE certainly won't be factors... but please tell me they'll still be superpowers in some form.

Ok, so, as of this, we'll have seen a future-past city as a dictatorship, a pseudo-communist cult, and now as an Uberdemocracy.

From the look of the trailer, we'll have to hope that that there are a LOT more Vita-Chambers in this game...

Steampunk bioshock. I want it now!
...erm... you DO realize Bioshock was steampunk from the beginning, right?
