hmmm odd lot of facts there i ALLAYS free the krogan myself hes bloody tank among tanks and always play as the ported level 60 paragon shocktooper male Shepard from my mass effect one play-threw, maxed the ship out as not maxing it out bothers me for whatever reason(hell i bought the medlab upgrade even though i didn't need it) and the fact that having to buy gas to goof around the stars and running out of probes on a planet that had that one rare thing i needed for that one new gun upgrade always ALWAYS pissed me off. i choose the paragon choice at the end and figured out that my first time of having only one person die was due to me being a moron and little else and maybe missing ONE upgrade...though that one i didnt know about the time so yeah

though archangel does see alot of action on my side missions always good to have a sniper on hand

if you ask me mass effect 3 needs a few things. more crap to do bigger planets and levels to do said crap on and maybe bring back the free roaming tank levels But with the new tank that works half a damn due to being a hover tank but having the shields and HP of the old one as the new feels like its made of cardboard. AND MAYBE a mech suit rampage with one of those big tank like mechs or a geth prime other then that just keep most of the stuff as is and there golden

I'd love to hear the basis for that belief.

One other thing I forgot to mention: I played as an Infiltrator, full-out Paragon. I love the more subtle aspects of the class (not to mention the Widow) and a Paragon, well, that's just how I roll.

And I didn't mind the mineral scanning minigame, either. By the time I finished, with everything on the ship maxed out, I had in the neighbourhood of 200,000 surplus of each, and I'd still drop by planets every now and then and do a little mining, just for the hell of it. See if I could make a big strike or whatever. It's not everybody's cup of tea (obviously) but it never made my eyes glaze. Maybe that's just my OCD gamer nature shining through.

Kind of disappointing how many people opted for a male Shepherd, as the voice actor has terrible delivery and always tends to sound like he's not really paying attention and was just reminded to read the next line of his script.

I don't really get all the complaints about Shepard's voice acting. I thought it was right on the money: calm, cool and collected, when all around him is going to the Krogans. Maybe not quite as sexy as Zaeed, but right on in terms of "command demeanour." (That said, I've never heard the chick Shepard, so I can't compare.)

Maybe I've just heard enough bad voice acting over the years that anything less than an all-out train wreck doesn't seem all that bad.

Possible. I've just found it dull and... actually, it wouldn't be bad for an elcor. If the guy prefaced every line with the emotional state, that might help things. And make the game even more interesting.

I'm not suprised more people went with the male Shepard, I am surprised that as much as 82% did, purely because I thought Jennifer Hale's voice acting was far superior to Mark Meer's. Not at all suprised that soldier is by far the most-chosen class, though. Personally, I prefer Engineer, assault rifles make the combat just a touch too easy for me.

InB4 everyone saying Femshep's voice actor is better to sound edgy and different. Because it's not. I mean, Hale makes Femshep sound so arrogant and cold, where as Maleshep makes this impression of a cool, collected leader. Just like it's supposed to be. But that's just like, my opinion man.

Also, I didn't destroy the facility at the finale. I didn't like the look on Illusive mans face one bit.

Well they got sisters of battle, but who are the cool ones? The marines.

The reason that you find this a male dominated market is because no one cares to include us. We are your sisters, girlfriends and wives. And yet we are left out?

Its bad enough that they had to go and "officially" make Revan a guy. (rolls-eyes)

Now Shepard as well? That's total BS.

...and they wonder why they can't tap into the "female market"

Time to drop the Sears catalog, wash your hands and maybe comb your hair and come out of the basement into the real world where we are fighting alongside you in combat zones and some of us are actually showing that we can keep up. If nothing is done the nerd population's birth rate will remain low at this rate.

First of all: I lol'd

Secondly: Shepard was male right from the start you GURL GAMER.

I can understand that this pisses you off but you'll just have to deal with it. You're exactly what is wrong with female gamers, by not shutting the fuck up about anything. And you have to bring your gender into everything! have you ever seen a guy on XBLA going on and on about how he is a GUY who plays GAMES, oh and I'm really ATTRACTIVE too! on his profile? No, because it doesn't matter and some people just don't have a huge victim complex like you do. What is wrong with you?

I prefer Male Shepard's voice. It just isn't the same with female Shep. I also did multiple playthroughs so in one most of my crew died and I let the illusive man take the technology and in another (the one I want to keep) my crew survived and I didn't make friends with the illusive man.

Many of the renegade decisions just seem like bad leadership choices. At least I got that impression.

Just would like to point out that female soldiers don't meet the requirements for the Special Forces (American, at least. No clue about the other SFs represented in Black Ops like the Spets, although I'd assume they're the same) simply because the Special Forces doesn't accept females. That's why there's no female skin in multiplayer. Because it would make no sense.

Also, Revan may be a male, but the Jedi Exile (a character I felt was better written and more relatable than Revan) was female. And yes, Shepherd is a guy because Shepherd was written a guy. I don't complain because Alyx Vance is a woman.

As previously stated, girl gamers need to quit with the victim complex. No one is being sexist, that's just how it is. I find it ironic that you complained about non-white hobbits yet you call out sexism with the game industry.

Also, I just wanted to point out the irony of your avatar obviously pandering toward being sexy. Something tells me (based on the fact that you joined today to post today) that you are merely an internet troll out to play the role of a victimized girl gamer. If so, nice one, because you sure play the part well.

Alright, I have to admit that I've never actually played Mass Effect 2 (I decided not to when my boyfriend wouldn't shut up about it like when he got onto a serious Anime kick about two years ago and I couldn't go anywhere near the television without getting nauseous hearing 'Ninja Ninja!' or whatever they were jabbering about.)

My first introduction to computer gaming was Knights of the Old Republic. (I never knew being sick could be so much fun) And I was hooked, and even happy about the Exile. (Yes I forgot all about the Exile to my shame)

I was happy as can be about playing a computer version of myself. Then came my introduction to FPS (And I really liked them)But I think there I made a valid point in the wee hours of the morning about making games more accessible. Albeit I probably did it in a fairly cranky way.

It didn't help that I picked a picture that I like as opposed to my real pic, and had a real 'oh' moment and actually have to say thanks and you are right, I should use a real pic as my avatar if I am advocating equality when it comes to skins. (As for the role of women in combat New Zealand, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Norway, Israel, Sweden and Switzerland allow women to be in a fully active combat role. More than even I thought!)

Victimized? Well rested I don't feel like much of a victim. (More aggravated that I have to be a faceless avatar in a lot of the games I enjoy)

And oddly, I have been reading the posts and discussion boards for more than a year and never had a strong desire to join. As for a troll, (I had to ask someone what that was, I feel so new) The only troll I know is my boyfriend who has nothing better to do than to hop onto forums and poke fun at people. (when he's not trolling for arguments with me it seems... <_< )

I guess one shouldn't fling eyeliner about without knowing where it will land. :)

Thanks!

Mark Meer is a much better Renegade VA.

Hale is a much better Paragon VA.

I've played both genders, and it doesn't really matter to me. I generally prefer Male Shepard.

Also: Engineers are best.

I tried a male Shepard and just couldn't suspend disbelief. The voice acting combined with the mannerisms were just so damn camp. They might as well have given him a ballgown to wear aboard the Normandy.
Femshep all the way! Jennifer Hale did much better voice acting, and female Shepard had a much more expressive face and body language.
I upgraded the ship fully on every playthrough, did every loyalty mission (even killing the thresher maw every time) and have never lost a squad member in the suicide mission.
Oh, and I told the Illusive Man to go suck it.

FemShep from ME1-ME2
Romanced Liara - Stayed Loyal (and boy did it pay off in the Shadow Broker DLC :D)
100% Crew Loyalty
90% Ship upgrades (left the medical bay alone)
100% Survival rate for my crew on Suicide Mission
Managed to save Kelly and Chakwas from the Collectors.
I am most assuredly off Cerberus and TIM's Christmas Card list, as if I'd give a shit, miserable load of xenophobes and immoral space scum. In fact, third order of business after kicking the Reaper's arse across space and solidifying the romance with Liara, is hunting down Cerberus and scattering their ashes to the vacuum of space.

Jennifer Hale is a much better actress than Mark Meer. I wish no offence to the man personally but he just sounds so po-faced and boring I could hardly play through the first mission in ME1 with him. FemShep's voice is just so dynamic and feels real. Plus some of the scripted sequences take on a funny side with her, for example Kasumi sounds like she's hitting on Shep and staring at her chest during her loyalty mission.

Considering most of the 40K Marines are more or less welded into their armour, it wouldn't make a bit of fucking difference. They give no outward clue as to who's calling the shots in there and given what I've read, indoctrination from birth, cybernetic enhancements and a whole slew of other crap, why would it matter?

So the OP did a Paragon completionist run. Same here, but I did a female Shepard. I just find the actress's voice soothing. Sucks that the editor alwaays produces a less-than-attractive face, but meh.

I play Vanguard because I like having more than one gun but I also like throwing around enemies and doing that super tackle move. Fully upgraded, in my seecond playthrough I can easily mow down a room by simply using melee and that tackle since it slows down time and I have short cooldowns.

A valid Reason for it, since they wanted the Revan + Bastila Relationship going on so that they can have a descendant for Starwars : the Old Republic "Master Satele Shan" . http://www.swtor.com/info/holonet/biographies/jedi-grand-master-satele-shan
