If Shepard pulls off the big win and saves the galaxy, he/she should be allowed to retire.

I just know that this means there will at least be an ending where Shepard dies. I really want my Shepard to go out in flames, in a grand, tearjerking finale. I want to cry my eyes out when I finish this game.

Well the Mass Effect universe is so diverse and exciting, it would be a shame to file it away after the end of ME3. I can see a bright future ahead for it as long it doesn't follow in suite with CoD and Halo.

Also: spin-off where we play as Garrus anyone?
This is one of the reason I just can't stand Shepard. Honestly, who really cares for Shep to begin with, the game has and has always been about the universe Bioware created not the so and so called Space Jesus some here have already referred to..>>

Great! Now how about some spin-off games set in the ME universe in different genres? Make a straightforward cover-based shooter for that crowd, maybe based on the rival PMCs like Blue Suns and Eclipse so you can have online teams of mixed alien races. Then make a good space-combat simulator, because those deserve a renaissance and ME is a good setting for one. And then make RPGs for the old fans, owith stronger RPG elements and story and less focus on repetitive combat.

Shepard, I always wanted to tell you. I love you. Iv always loved you. that whore Miranda and the weird blue chick could never hold a torch to my love for you. I-

Oh, wait, that was the fanfic I was....anyway, Yes, an end to shepards tale is for the best. id hate for him to end up like some sort of Cash cow that the Chief has turned into.

I would like the next mass effect games to let you be other races and maybe one that explores the past of many characters,i would like especially Zaeed and Kasumi

I really hope they don't try to pull a multiple ending Space Jesus on us. I mean, having an ending where Shepherd sacrifices himself for humanity and all that is fine, but it's just so cliched and boring I'm really hoping they get creative.

Adding to the MMO crowd. I really hope it isn't I do not like MMO's. Its simply not possible to write a good well paced story in that medium. I much prefer character centric rpg's like Mass effect has going.

I want.

Mass effect, Origins. Pick a race, get a race specific back story. Do a plot.

The only way they could make Mass Effect better is by having an MMO alongside these great games. Having Krogan, Turian, Quarian, Asari, Geth, and a handful of other aliens playable would add so much also having choices like becoming a mercenary and junk. Oh, Bioware, PLEASE!

Here's an idea, ala Halo Reach in it's similarity. But why not have a Mass Effect set 50000 years back, when the Prothean's fell at the hands of the Reapers. Wouldn't that be awesome?! One could make it a pretty emotional game, what with when the Prothean's realise, that they as a species, are doomed and that there is no way out, except to try and help future species overcome the Reaper menace...

In my opinion i'd much rather have seen a Mass Effect MMO

also, Bioware going for space combat game a la Homeworld?

Damn, Damn, Damn, Damn...I smell MMO. I could be mistaken though since KotOR smelled like MMO too.

Considering Bioware's new 'philosophy' though, the next Mass Effect may be a straight-up FPS (with conversations and RPG elements hopefully). I'm hoping the next series or, ME game will allow me to play as a species other than human. I can understand not being an Elcor, Yahg or, Hanar but I want to try my hand as a Krogan or, a Turian.
YES! I would like that too. Bring back the RPG! Turian Commando, the Adventures of Garrus, the Specter.

How many times am I going to hear "It's going to turn into COD!". Firstly, they said they are adding some of the RPG elements back in, and secondly, I am just sick of reading it. When I first read it I was like "meh" because I am not a big mass effect fan. But seriously, in every goddamn ME3 thread now, there's always 2 or more people that go "GAAAH It's going to turn into Gears of Call of halo!". Is there one point in mass effect history that didn't have cover based shooting? I mean, what else do you want? Turn based? RTS? What? I actually had to do alot of shooting in ME1 when I played through it, so I don't know why people are suddenly complaining about it when it's been there since 1. Also, again, I see that damn complaint on every ME3 thread. Can't we go through ONE without seeing it? Please?

The one thing that would be EXTREMELY satisfying for me is if they gave you the option to deliver a long, drawn-out "the reason you suck speech" to the Citadel Council. Doesn't really matter WHEN but I would guess either right after the Council members show up on the Normandy (as some screens indicate) or towards the end of the game after you've successfully beaten back the Reaper Invasion (or more hauntingly, after you've failed, and can quite legitimately blame the Council for the failure since a LOT of problems would've been solved if they had listened).

I would rather Mass Effect just end than have ti become an MMO. That is incredibly difficult for me to say, as I love the Mass Effect series more than just about anything, but to go MMO with a series this story driven would be a huge mistake. Yes, the galaxy is awesome and expansive. Yes, an MMO would allow for better exploration of that awesome, expansive galaxy, but I genuinely think that an MMO would be the death knell of a series I'd really like to see continue. I think that, in the wake of Shepard's victory/defeat, we should play a different person in Mass Effect 4. We should deal with a smaller scale, more personal conflict that doesn't threaten to ruin the whole universe, but only to screw up one planet, or, even better, one life. This would put a lot of perspective on the series, for me, anyway.

That could be cool but doing a Wing Commander treatment could be really great as well.
