I hope that we actually get to go to Earth this time.
Oh and this waiting is killing me.
Omg, really, getting to go to earth would be great. It took me a long while in Mass Effect just finding earth, and when I found it, I was P.O.ed that I couldnt visit future earth. That would be a huge plus if we could now. Instead of just the freaking moon... darn hunk of rock.

ME was wonky and under developed then again I got it on the PC..... still it had a bit more depth in equipment than Jade empire...but I liked jade empires combat more even if it was unrefined.

I'd like to be able to buy upgrade slots for weapons and armor I would like to be able to buy mods for the vehicle. I hear combat will be less hiding and trading shots and more moving and shooting...that will be a nice change.

All in all I more more interested in what DRM the PV version will be getting stuck with... it would be great if they didn't use activation...but I have this feeling it will be a "rental" like Riddick....

I need to replay the first and make sure I do it in a way I would want to carry over to 2.

I have a very, VERY bad feeling that I screwed myself over big-time with my first ME character. This "all actions carry over" means alot of people are gonna hate me, with a prime example being the Fan in the citidel, after all I did pin him to a wall, put a gun in his face, and made him cry like a little 6-year old. Oh well, that's what I get for going down the renegade path, I guess.

Very promising stuff, even if what they're saying isn't entirely bourne out by the end product, it's obvious that the intent will shine through. Heavier weapons would be very welcome this time around, most things felt very downscaled, only the rifle felt like it packed a punch, and the stereotypical tiny grenade splashes were a pain. Can't wait to see it in action...

I just hope this game has a better emphasis on story than the first. I mean the first game I found absurdly short and under developed with all those exploration missions as over compensating filler. More emphasis and better story, and make exploration more exciting with more than the same menial objectives. Oh and make the morality crap actually relevant this time, I mean jesus that was such a pointless last minute thing, only 2 or 3 instances in the entire game where it was even remotely used.

Ah well, I also went down the Renegade path with my most recent character. Though I didn't scare the fan off, just persuaded him to go home to his wife...:)

Sounds absolutely fantastic. My only problem is that it's going to take too damn long for the game to come out. Really, Bioware, you couldn't have pushed for a late 2009 release? I know it may have been a better decision but still....2010 seems so far away.

I do hope that Mass Effect 2 comes out on the PC at the same time as the XBox this time, heh.

I'm wondering what those robots are...are they Reapers, Citadel robots left by the Reapers, upgraded Geth with Reaper tech?
Well they don't look quite as advanced as the Geth so I'm guessing they aren't Geth or Reapers. Could be something that the humans have made, if so probably by Cerberus.

The ending sure is ominous though...

Yes, it looks beautiful.

Yes, the new aliens look cool

And yes, I'm very excited to here the combat is being improved.

But the most impressive thing about that video was that guy's mustache. God I wish I could grow one like that...

The longer it takes, the better it'll be.

That Parrish Ley guy has a freaking awesome moustache! I can't help but trust that they're making a great game with a 'tache like that involved.

I think one of the biggest things they need to fix from the first game is the graphical stability; what with textures not loading properly and stuff, it looked like a complete mess half the time.

Well, I'll use the same argument I use for Valve: if the end product is better, waiting a little while longer is acceptable. After all, think of, for example, KotOR II. That game was amazing, but it could have been so much better if LucasArts hadn't pushed Obsidian for a Christmas release.

Hopefully, Bioware's push for intensity will mean that the achingly-slow elevator rides and the lackluster planetary dune-buggy missions will be a thing of the past. Either way, this video makes me insanely jealous of the people going to E3.
I gotta disagree man, I loved the dune buggy missions, I liked feeling like a lot of space was still open and unexplored, If anything, I wouldn't have minded them adding in a little 4X action into that mix as an alternate method to accumulate money, instead of the (frankly ludicrous) sums of money you got from enemies endgame. But I know it's not really in character with the rest of the game, I just felt like pointing out it isn't universally hated. I wasn't a fan of the elevators after the first time, I did like the sense of scale, I just would have preferred a way to click to a loading screen.

I didn't find the Mako that bad either, but some variety would have been nice. I mean, a few developed planets, some buildings that aren't pre-fabs (at least a pre-fab building made sense, how the hell do you have identical mines?), maybe?

I agree, the Mako's shortcomings are greatly overstated, and it's at times fun. The buildings, however, need much more work, even there ends up being less of them.

Besides, the Mako might end up being totally reworked, I saw a piece of concept art in one of the videos that looks like the Mako, except hovering.

QFGT, some say ME has a great story/dialog I say it has simplified dialog that stops mid conversation to much that sounds like better than average dialog.

Oh and looking at the trend of dialog trees the morality crap is just for that the multi pathing( weill really 2 paths saint and ass hole) dailog sequences.

Hell I think the Morrowind or fallout 2 was the last game to have any decent dialog pathing in it...

I actually didn't like the Mako for a while, but then Bring Down The Sky showed me the alternative. Remember that one torch with the blasting caps around it? You had to proceed on foot, and then take out a squad of batarians with little cover. I had never wanted to use the Mako more.

I haven't seen that concept art, but I'm not surprised. Bioware tends to listen to their fans. Lets just hope they don't go overboard with that the way Monolith did with FEAR 2.
