I have the best timing ever.

I literally just finished playing the trilogy.

FUCKING SWEEEEEEEET

I'm already excited!
Small world, so did I.
and I've got all the faith BioWare can bring another epic to fruition.
And maybe this time they'll harvest that epic before it rots on the branch.

Not sure that that would be very interesting. It only lasted 3 months, a lot of it was the Turians trying to starve the Shanxi garrison out, and the causality count barely broke one thousand.
Just want a prequel really.
-first contact war
-rachni war
-krogan rebellions
-Torfan or the blitz
Rachni Wars and the Krogan Rebellions, now THAT would make a good video game.

Actually, Mass Effect will turn out to be nothing more than an alternate timeline. You see, this is all part of the timeline where Biff used the almenac to make himself rich. The new Mass Effect will be after Marty has fixed the timeline and Biff's decendant doesn't start Cerberus. I'm just saying.
Out-f'ing-standing. Haha, now I'm going to have to make a gif of the indoctrinated illusive man telling Shepard to make like a tree and get out.

You might not be done with Mass Effect, but I sure as fuck am.
Then please explain why you feel compelled to constantly remind them and everyone else of how you are allegedly done with the series.
I'll stop posting about how I'm done with the series when it dies and there aren't anymore news articles about how EA is still kicking this dead horse.
You care about this stuff far more than I and far more than you probably should, have fun regardless...
I fail to see how taking fifteen seconds out of my day to type up a post constitutes as caring too much.
It's not the time you take out of your day, it's that you constantly repeat the same thing more than 6 months on, even though you claim to be done and not care anymore.
I am done with the Mass Effect series, I'm just royally pissed off that EA/Bioware are pretending that the franchise is still going strong and that they didn't royally fuck it up.
If releasing free DLC in an attempt to correct their mistake isn't admitting at least some sort fault then what would it be exactly?
Making it so that the DLC actually changed the ending and make it so that it wasn't just a turd polish. Dropping the "artistic integrity" bullshit would be nice too.
So this is all because they didn't do what you wanted.
What I wanted them to do was pull their heads out of their asses and write a quality ending, so yeah, technically you're right. I fail to see how that's a bad thing though.
Other works of fiction have had bad endings, that doesn't give the audience the right to demand change in someone else's work. Bioware made the games, Bioware has the right to make any ending it wants weather it be good or bad.
Yeah...doesn't change that the ending is complete and utter shit though, and when they did actually change the ending, they compeltly phoned
it in.
Ending was shit, criticize, complain, be disappointed, but after 6 months, just get over it.
Define, "get over it" all I said was that I was done with Mass Effect, ergo I have, you know, moved on? My opinion isn't ever going to change, so what am I supposed to do when a news article about ME pops up, not say anything?
Yep, pretty much, that's what the person who's over something and doesn't care about it would do, you know, like he's actually over it and doesn't care about it.
Or maybe I just wanted to give my input on the article, ever think about that?
Except you've already given your input on countless other articles, so reiterating the same opinion seems somewhat redundant.

You left out the Geth Rebellion.
Also other cycles as I think about it.
Anyone up for a game based around Javik?

They're going to do something with Shepard's last gasp at the end after he somehow survived the exploding Citadel and somehow survived falling from orbit and somehow didn't end up as paste when he landed.

On the one hand, I don't want them to do anything because it was just BS sequel bait.

On the other hand, of all the unanswered questions to leave us with, why this one? I'd say it doesn't make sense, but that's the ME3 ending in a nut shell. Therefore it does make sense, I suppose.

They have failed me with the direction ME2 was taken in, ME3 is just an extension of it. Dragon Age 2 further proved Bioware lost their touch and sunk into mediocrity. So, dear Bioware, by all means go ahead, spawn new Mass Effect related content and see if I care. Estimated chance of success? 2% tops.

It'll still get released on fucking Origin, so I won't be able to get it anyway.

I had always figured Shepard was lying in the rubble in one of the Wards on the Citadel. In the extended cut at least the Citadel isn't entirely destroyed. Although it's still a far fall from that observation deck he was on with the Catalyst to one of the Ward arms.

OT

Well that was obvious from the beginning, but I was only in it for the trilogy. I might get some of the DLC for Mass Effect 3 if it piques my interest, but as far as other games in the series go, unless it's Garrus' time in Omega I'm not really interested.

EA/BioWare may not be, but I'm finished with Mass Effect. I don't think I need to elaborate why, especially as a good deal of the other forum-goers here have managed to echo my thoughts. They can keep pumping out prequels and the like if they wish, of course, but that doesn't mean I'm going to be buying any of them.

Ok yeah that planet scanning thing was fucking awful and I suppose you do make valid points about the story dragging along just to collect people. The missions were fun but they could feel like a bit of a checklist aswell. These are all valid points and I must stop listening now before I can't look at my beloved game the same again :D
Oh I wouldn't want to do that now, would I? ;)

Srsly though, i have nothing against people who love ME.... hell, i have a friend who pretty much lives in the universe, the amount she plays it. And you know, it's not another generic shooter with no colour and tacked on story....

And I can never dislike Garrus

Saw this coming from a mile away. It really sucks to see the co-founders go. Kind of an ominous sign...

I know this is you, EA. I know you're just hiding behind Bioware's name. Please, dont do this. Bioware still has juice in them, the Extended Cut proved that, but don't you dare misuse the strength they have left. Mass Effect is done. It's finished. The Reapers are gone. Apart from updating the multiplayer, an MMO set before the events of the main trilogy, and a base for some great fanfic, it has nothing left to offer. Don't you dare pull a George Lucas on it. Don't you dare use what's left of Bioware to milk this. Just leave Mass Effect be, and either let Bioware go, or mercy kill them now. Or you could just grow a brain, while pigs are breaking air speed records and Lucifer is ice skating his way to work.
I was going to type up another ultra-whiny post, but got ninja'd.

The series ended. Can we let those guys move onto new stories? Oh right, EA...

The only way to beat ME3 is scale is to go smaller. Mae its a much more personal story rather than "hurdur now its the UNIVERSE!"
I have to agree with this. Maybe some kind of threat to the Citadel that a Spectre is sent to investigate. And only the Citadel. Smaller scale, but still serious enough to warrant a game around.
Soooo what you're saying is that you don't want to play "Mass Effect: The Red Line" In which you take on the roll of a volus trying to scour through the pitfalls and loopholes of intergalactic commerce, trade and accounting paperwork inorder to balance the Citidel's budget and form the galactic currency? If you order the collector's edition you get a free in game calculator.

Ooor say "Mass Effect 4 : The Brown Tide" Where you play as Alliance Serviceman Third Class Sanchez and are sent straight from boot camp to the 342nd Environmental Services Division Platoon B. You are put on latrine duty the week before the Reaper Invasion. Game features include an all new intuitive interface, Kinect ready, it truly feels like you are scrubbing the toilets and restocking the toilet paper. Take inventory of supplies, sweep and mop floors, sneak in naps on the clock. With ME4:TBT you control your experience every choice you make effects the outcome of the story. Earn renegade points by removing all the toilet paper from the bathrooms, waxing the shower floors, closing the bathroom for cleaning and never opening it back up. Earn Paragon points by going above and beyond the call of duty such as doing tasks off the clock, or offering to stay late and cover another shift. Serve humanity by making sure your fellow man can have a pleasant restroom experience. Collectors Edition comes with a limited edition mop, for when shit hits the fan...someone has to clean it up.

I will take ME the way bioware originally wanted me, with its stupid as fuck ending that forever ruined any possibility of continuing the franchise. That's what they originally wanted that's what they deserve from me.
