Treyarch has my respect. I totally called the zombie mode.

It is a lot more balanced, but it still has problems. Some of the killstreaks are still ridiculous for instance.

So you think this is not a bad thing? That this game, more than any other game in history, deserves this title? That developers won't see this and start grinding out their own uninspired FPS's annually like it's their sole duty? Why is it that shooters sell so much better than any other game, even if they're mediocre? (wait I know the answer to that question) When is this trend going to end?

I'm sure Black Ops is brilliant, and the fact that it's multi-platform certainly helps with it's sales numbers, but is it really that much different or better than MW2? And even if it was, do the pair of them really deserve the 1 and 2 spots for the biggest game launches in history? I know the campaign (once again) is short as hell, and as far as I can tell, the only differences in multiplayer come from the menu screens and the shiny knick-knacks you're rewarded for playing. Anything they did to balance the combat could've (and should've) been done in an update.

I think the entire thing makes the gaming community appear really shallow and insecure. I can name about 20 games that deserve to be experienced more than any CoD. It's just some of them may have color or a distinct lack of blood, gore, and guns.

I'd be willing to bet most of those people don't even know the difference between a Treyarch title and Modern Warfare. It's just Call of Duty to them.

Have you seen the sales for Starcraft II? One and a half million copies sold on launch day alone. for a PC exclusive. I'd say that's damned impressive; going head to head with a multiplatform shooter doing that well. I'd even be SCII has better long term sales due to the pro scene and Korea.

OT: Kotick said something insensitive, rude and profoundly stupid?! OH NOZE!!! Seriously though, good for Treyarch. Can't say I've played any of their games off the top of my head, but MWBO seems like a good one.

Sad. Whatever we do to improve the image of gamers is sucked straight back into the box by the majority who want to keep it as gun-toting, all-male, army guys. And handing the King of Schadenfreude their wallets as they go.

Happy. People are enjoying themselves and purchasing a game legitimately instead of pirating it, thus contributing to the industry. While I don't always like the all-male army guy type games, I am glad that millions of other people are having lots of fun with them, and would prefer that to the game not existing. And handing any money to anyone instead of pirating it as they go.
