And it bugs the shit out of me that you included a multiplayer trophy that says I have to get to level 50. So we can't all have what we want, can we? I'll play your multiplayer, but not because I want to. Because I have to. You had it right in Black Ops: one or two trophies for multiplayer that were easy to obtain. Then, if the player decided they liked it, they could keep playing of their own free will. Now, with the trophy that says you must Prestige once, I'm forced to play it all the way to the end. And if sniping someone still takes two to three shots like it did in Black Ops, I'm not going to enjoy it.
You know that you aren't required to get every trophy, right? If you don't like the multiplayer, and you keep playing it long enough to reach level 50, that's more on you than them.

Multiplayer is fine; playing with your friends is great. It's just PvP that doesn't appeal to some. Co-op is where it's at and the CoD2 Co-op missions were, IIRC, celebrated as a great addition to the series.

Well with all due respect David Vonderhaar, go fuck yourself.
"We understand that Black Ops had an extremely shitty campaign, especially compared to how good Modern Warfare's campaign is. To combat this, we are adding more features to the multiplayer of Black Ops, and taking away from the campaign. So players that want to play a single player game can go fuck themselves or play some gay shit like Elder Scrolls (seriously, that game is for faggots).

By the way, Battlefield < CoD. Just sayin'."

- Something he would probably say, considering his arguments above.

Well then make an all multiplayer COD game then, or stop telling people what they should or shouldn't do with the product that they bought.

Seriously.
I was going to write up something, but you've said everything that needs to be said.

Because when I'm reading a book or watching a movie the experience just isn't complete without a 12 year old screaming 'NOOB!' in my ear and the director commentary telling me how to enjoy it.

It bugs them because people like me don't play multiplayer? Alright then I will continue to bug them by STILL not play multiplayer then.

I value my free time as time for me, not for me and random stangers who are rude / 12 years old.

Thats my day job.

Yeah, I used to find CoD's multiplayer engaging... when it was called GoldenEye 007 on the N64.[flameshield activated]

OT: The problem with CoD's multiplayer really is that it's just become a sport now, and like any sport it's just populated by a bunch of arrogant jocks who think that you're somehow less of a person because you can't get pasta triple killstreak. It's not helped by the incredibly backward, top-heavy incentive system that basically freezes out any newcomers to the game and feeds the jocks' collective ego.

Well, then. Now, don't get me wrong, I like having a match of COD every now and again with friends...But, I'm seriously curious why they don't release a multiplayer only edition.

I will never understand why anyone gives even half a shit about trophies, achievments, etc, much less care enough to play a style of gaming they don't enjoy. I mean, play the game the way you want to; I just think it's weird that you choose to play a game in a manner you obviously don't like.

The thing that bugs the shit out of me? Tacked on shitty multiplayer. Not because I play it and hate it(because I don't play it at all), but rather that it detracts from the funding that could have been used to make a better single player experience.

Multiplayer lacks story, and that's good. No one wants to play a multiplayer game teeming with story because after the 20th match it gets tiresome, but some enjoy a good story. The fact the director is blissfully unaware of this says a lot about the developer.

Dear god, more sensationalist journalism from this place.

The title of the article isn't at all what he said. They created a mode to help ease people into multiplayer, people who wouldn't play because they don't think they're ready or experienced enough.

And it's construed as him saying "ZOMG EVERYONE SHUD PLAY TEH MULTIPLAYER!" Good job.

And I don't even like CoD. But lets not like CoD for reasons it shouldn't be liked, lets not make up reasons to dislike it.

I do not like other people in general. Why would I like the inoying 12 year olds that keep playing your 18+ games?

How about this David Vonderhaar? Why not stop your complaining and look at the fact that everyone is different, and just may not enjoy a story-less multiplayer compared to a single player that has a plot as much as others do, and the fact that every person doesn't want to play a multiplayer mode that is full of hackers, 12-year-olds, and jerks proving Gabe's Law of Internet Anonymity? It shouldn't "bug the shit out of you" that the people who play your games can use them in the way they want.
If you glanced at me, you might think I was one of those gamers that only likes to play single-player games, but that's not at all true. I love multiplayer, when it is interesting. Some of my current favorite games are PlanetSide 2, Dayz, Guild Wars 2. These are all games that only do multiplayer, and they each do it in awesome, unique ways, unlike Call of Duty.

You know what...fine. The game is multiplayer-centric, and it is VERY easy to see the, "We offer so much content in the multiplayer and I think people who just play single player are missing out" quote that is hideing just beneath the surface here. Yeah, the quotes not good, but thats because he doesn't sound like a PR type, and forcing multiplayer is a sore subject these days, between Spec Ops calling there multiplayer mode a Cancerous growth, to EA talking about the death of single player games, which would be disastrous for the medium. But give this guy some slack: He is not saying that his SP is bad, or that other gam,es should move away from SP. He is just saying that not playing the MP portion is missing out on a lot of content. And you know what? Hes not wrong. Don't burn him at the stake for not wording his idea perfectly.

Really? Is he just trolling or something? That like a rich guy complaining that he doesnt have enough money. Its COD, a shitload of people play COD only for the MP. What an ass

Fuck that, don't tell me how to fucking play your game. If I want to sit down and avoid all the homophobic, idiotic, childish trolls and hackers by playing alone, I should be allowed (In that note, keep a better eye on your multiplayer or stop whining).

You don't want us to play alone? Pull a SOCOM or a MAG and make your game strictly Online Multiplayer. Simple as that.

And yes, I know they've worked hard on it and people would be missing out on stuff...and still. People are entitled to play the game any way they want to. if I want to buy the game and use it as a frisbee, that's fine. You got my money already, the game is mine and that's that (It's another issue with hackers, I know. Don't even go there).

I like playing CoD by myself. I'm not very good at it but I enjoy it. Every now and then, if I feel like getting my butt kicked, I go play online. But then I run into the issues listed above and I leave. I like CoD but don't try and force me in a way I wouldn't enjoy it.

(Edit: Yeah, I might be overreacting. But if the multiplayer was better, I would probably agree with him. I love playing Gotham City Impostors and that's online only. yet, it's so balanced and fun that I don't give a crap. That's my issue.)

Statements like this genuinely make people like this guy seem stupid. He is making the common error that since we aren't doing what he thinks we should be doing, we must be doing something wrong. It's fine they want to concentrate on MP rather than SP. But he is just plain wrong if he thinks there is something he can do that would make me want to play it. I have only bought the COD games when they were on extreme sales because they put just enough effort into their SP that the 5 hours is worth about $15-20, IMO. They should just stop though, it's starting to be just plane not good.
