I've been thinking that for a good couple years now. But damn if he doesn't know how to make a good game. Besides, isn't Gearbox already poking fun at the Chief in Duke's new game?Worgen said:I swear, bleszinski is like a kid

I don't agree with you, you are therefore trolling.teebeeohh said:so if crossovers destroy the storyline than how can you allow models from the single player campaign to be used in multiplayer where they die several times each round?Spartan448 said:They day I see the cheif in a game other than the Halo series, is the day I loose all confidence in 343 Industries to not let the Halo franchise die off completely. Having the Cheif in another series would contadict everything in BOTH series, completly ruining any value the storylines of whatever sieries the Cheif was mixed with, as well as the Halo storyline. Unless you do what Valve did and purposely built the storylines of two games to be able to have crossovers, you CANNOT MAKE A CROSSOVER WORK AND EXPECT TO RETAIN THE PERCENTAGE OF THE CONSUMER INDUSTRY WHO BUY YOUR GAMES FOR THE STORYLINE.
Aside from the fact that crossovers never work, you have to consider that whilst GoW fans wouldn't mind tearing one of the biggest characters in gaming limb from limb, you have to consider that if that happened, the Halo community would be in uproar, and is substantially larger than the GoW community. So I applaud Microsoft for deciding NOT to allow something that would plunge gamers into an armed war in the streets.
Also, you can't put Cheif into GoW, because if Spartans were in that game, even as a small, one pixel cameo, the whole series would change. The Locust would've never been able to get any foothold on the surface, if it were defended by Spartans. ESPECIALLY if one of those Spartans happened to be Sgt. Jhonson. (who actually IS an S-I, by the way).
but you are just trolling anyway, right?
no it's just the combination of the avatar, the name and the vigorous defense of the halo franchise that made me believe he was either trolling or a die hard halo fanaticDoctor Glocktor said:I don't agree with you, you are therefore trolling.
Seriously? Like, seriously?
Not going after modders for a minor copyright infraction isn't really "cool". It's just "not complete asshole".Irridium said:Shame. After all, Microsoft seemed cool with modders making a chief skin in Unreal Tournament 3. And was even cool when that skin was able to be used by PS3 users.
Wow. Because he's a fan of halo, you think he's either a die hard fanatic or a troll?teebeeohh said:no it's just the combination of the avatar, the name and the vigorous defense of the halo franchise that made me believe he was either trolling or a die hard halo fanaticDoctor Glocktor said:I don't agree with you, you are therefore trolling.

Do you even know what a troll is? I don't think so.
A quick google search is all it would have taken to discover that Frostmoune is a magical sword from Warcraft. Somehow, both Warcraft and X-men remain popular and beloved to this day. Go figure! You also didn't address the Dissidia point. Ignoring it due to a lack of refutation, perhaps?Spartan448 said:First of all, regarding Soul Caliber and MK, as I said in my last post, games that have no real storyline and are just beat'em up fighting games (Like SC and MK), really can't mess up the storylines of other games. Second, with Smash Bros., it is primarily a multiplayer game like SC and MK, although it DOES have a storyline in it (that must've taken less than an hour to create), and is really just a tolken gesture to Nintendo fanboys who would love nothing more than to see their favorite nintendo characters working together, even if it woul make less sense than combustable lemons. On your point with Frostmorne... I have no idea who he is, so this is just assumption that he's a comic book character like Wolverine and the X-Men are, but usually comic companies like Marvel and D.C. construct their comics so they could easily fit together if they needed to, for example, even though we all know that Gotham and Metropolis are really the same city, since they're different in the comics, they can be fit together that way.
Whilst I am not opposed to having characters from different franchises as unlockable multiplayer skins (multiplayer, as I said, has no storyline), adding a character, even without the idioligy of that character's game, into another game, can ruin it for everyone. Also, assomeone else mentioned, Cheif would not fit in well with the COG, unless Bleszinski had either origionally planned for the redundancy of putting a suit into another suit, or just letting Cheif keep his regular armor. That would be the extent they could do. Anything showing any part of Cheif's skin would cause an uproar in the Halo community, mostly in the form of claiming that since 343 hasn't decided what the Cheif looks like under the armor, Bleszinski shouldn't either.
Your protests have been refuted! NO SOUP FOR YOU!
You made me groan. Very loudly.Canadish said:Now that could of been fun.
Microsoft really...
...grinds my gears sometimes.
Huh. I could've sworn it was an M-rated game. Silly me, thinking parents pay attention.icyneesan said:Halo is played around the world by tons of children, you can't just have a child-role model get all torn up.
Dont be silly, they didn't die, they just be missing in action.mjc0961 said:They sure die a lot for a group of soldiers that never die, though... Very strange indeed.Eri said:Doesn't Bleszinski know? Spartans never die
they pretty much did that.dogstile said:Obviously, using internet levels of conspiracy theory's, Microsoft is going to dumb down halo so it gets a 12 rating by removing blood! :O
Actually, not exactly like those guys.Kitsuna10060 said:good, we can start the scarring XDicyneesan said:Halo is played around the world by tons of children, you can't just have a child-role model get all torn up.
