The hilarious part? I'm betting 30-70% of those bans where D2 bots doing Baal and MF runs. Hell I've been temp banned for running Shenk, Pindle, and Eldricht on multiple occasions with no third party the run takes less then two minuted with a properly equipped Hammerdin. But I digress, most epic ban hammer ever an Amin in WoW should be given one.

There is no God. There is only Blizzard.

And Blizzard rules all.

Seriously though, that is some mighty impressive banning. Good god, you don't mess with Blizzard. They don't take kindly to that sort of thing!

This is horrible. It sounds as though some people have been unjustifiably banned because Blizzard are incompetent and trigger happy.

If even one innocent is harmed in order to hurt others, it is morally repugnant.

(Well, I'd argue that doing that to anyone, guilty or not is morally repugnant, but whatever.)

I wish M$ would be as unforgiving with Xbox360 haxors, play fair or sod off you dirty, stinking cheaters...Most 360 leaderboards are pointless thanks to these losers.

Funny coincidence, my World of Warcraft account was compromised by a keylogger yesterday.......wait, that's not funny, it's devastating.

Especially since it means they might have access to my Escapist, my Ebay, and (shit shit shit shit) my Paypal

.... only an idiot has their password the exact same for everything. double if it deals with money.

OT: 320,000 is a good number... too bad they let gold farmers run rampant through their games.
I never said I used the same password for everything.

The fact that the keylogger was on my computer and logged my WoW password when I typed it in, means it might have logged my Paypal password and my Ebay password too.

Think before you call other people idiots.
then you might want to get a different scanner then if it had enough time to grab your passwords, my idiot point still remains though since you failed to mention you didnt use the same password for everything, as it was a simple observation.
I'm an idiot because I didn't make sure that nobody would jump to a conclusion there was no evidence to support? Sure buddy.

Anyway, shit like this sometimes happens, I use Spybot S&D and I scan once a week, it must have gotten onto my computer and reported the info withing the week between scans, since I can't really be expected to run all of my scans more than once a week, I guess I'll just have to be careful what sites I visit (I am pretty careful about that, I bet it happened when I misspelled a URL and got thrown into a no name site, or one of those sites that's a placeholder for a free domain name, it happens from time to time)

If you consider that you play the game for free online, banning people for using a network clogging auto reconnect software (which can be used for running a bot) is not entirely unreasonable.
The network lag is negligible, so that's no excuse. Besides, the bots run registered accounts. If all they're doing is saving connections from Blizzard's own faulty coding, there's no real problem.
I admit my reasoning was weak. However, your argument from personal incredulity aside, there could be a litany of reasonable explanations for not allowing auto reconnect.

Provided the keylogger was not installed by someone you knew, you can limit the install of software via the internet, email or downloads by not using your computer as an admin. Just a tip for the future, happens to the best of us.

Of course. I'm not saying that they don't have a reason; however, this reason hasn't been expressed. It almost seems like they're too lazy to update the Terms of Use, so they just throw a blanket ban over everything.

Thanks for the tip, and for not calling me an idiot like some of the people here, shit happens, didn't mean I was negligent.

Anyway, I can't stand running my computer without full rights, but thanks for the tip
