why does everyone think that blizzard would have done this well?
what shooters have they done well? um none because they haven't made one before. I'd rather a company stick to what its good at than make a game which they have no prior knowledge of the market of.
You mean like all the MMOs they did before WoW.
Haha, owned.
not really WoW just built on the hero elements out of Wc3 its hardly genre defying.
WoW defined the genre by giving people a great questing experience, and almost eliminating the downtime issue in most mmos at that time.

Now, did they decide to put her in Starcraft II before or after they cancelled Ghost?

It's called the Miranda Effect.

I'll advice you to stop taking now, because what you're saying doesn't do your intellect any PR favours.

And I already hated WoW enough for taking so much time out of all the games that Blizzard is actually releasing...I was happier thinking they canceled it because they were doing a shitty job or something. I thought I was over the cancellation, but I just might relapse now D:
Yes, Wow wasn't any type of hit or anything, it clearly didn't draw money and gamers to it, nope absolutely not.
Honestly. If WOW would been a flob, they wouldn't most likely had the money to develop such titles as we have now and incoming. SC2 would surely had less money and time to be molded in to the masterpiece it is, Diablo 3 might never had the finance to start with.

Just that you don't like the game doesn't mean it was a bad game. I myself don't like SC or SC2 but I still think they are masterpieces, I own them both, but don't like them.

Why is everyone so upset about it being cancelled? I've heard from a couple sources that actually played the game when it was in development that it was pretty terrible.
I heard it is a mental disease of sort. Was it Fanboyism? And female form Fangirlsm and So that no one would get offended here's the unisex form; fantardism. /joke for those that didn't realize this.

They should have kept this to themselves.

Now WoW haters will have a valid answer to the question "Why do you hate WoW".
I already have several valid reasons to hate World of Warcraft thank you very much. They range from the repetitive game play, dated engine, horrible tangle off cross genre cliché's and the encouragement rabid fan base who spread the game through 'buddy' invites that keep cropping up.

All very good reasons to not like or enjoy WoW.
Brilliant reasons not to play WoW or be the slightest interest in WoW.
Not even close to a reason to hate WoW, unless you're being forced to play it... and even then you may want to save the hate for whoever is forcing you to play it.

and the encouragement rabid fan base who spread the game through 'buddy' invites that keep cropping up.
And that's a great reason to dislike the rabid fanbase, or hate it if you want to be melodramatic.

Until now, WoW has done nothing to anyone worthy of hate. People have a choice to play the game or not, and its certainly not WoW's fault there are people sending you invites.
You don't even have the Justin Bieber excuse where his music is all over the radio and thus somewhat unavoidable.

Just to better illustrate my point, an example:

-I don't like sports games because I find them uninteresting.
-I hate the new Spyro games because they keep diminishing the chance of an original styled Spyro game being released.

The first example doesn't affect me unless I let it. The second has actually taken something away from me, even if it was intangible and beyond my control.

... I don't understand. These people have TRILLIONS at their disposal, and they can't make this game?

Well, maybe they didn't have those resources before WoW, but now...
I am bedazzled why's not made yet.
Blizzard really, really does not like working on console systems. There's a reason their last title ever to grace a console was Starcraft 64, and it's not because they don't think the community would take to titles like Diablo.

But the reasons are pretty simple- The game was nearing completion during the end of the last generation of consoles (Xbox, PS2, Gamecube) and they weren't quite sure if they wanted to scrap everything and start all over for a new wave of consoles, and the game still wasn't quite where they wanted it. At a pretty basic level the game failed to really distinguish itself from any other FPS. Or stealth centric game for that matter.

I always kind of figured it was because of WoW, but now that it's confirmed, WoW just sucks so much more.

You do realize that the majority of the WoW dev team is completely separate from the Diablo and Starcraft dev teams, right?

The article says that support was given to WoW from other teams, specifically the SC:G team, most likely due to the fact that the 3D rendering and everything from gameplay videos looks strikingly familiar to a WoW veteran.

The main thing you should take from this response is the fact that Blizzard has always released games painfully slowly. They aim to make their games extremely well done in order to please their fans. If that takes almost twelve years, then so be it. They know that (most of) their fans would rather play a polished game than some shitty title thrown together so they can have a release every six months.

I was looking forward to SCG for the longest time. Loved the Ghost unit, loved Sarah Kerrigan, and love stealth games.

Now I'm just looking forward to the Imperial Agent class in TOR.

Pants do NOT work that way, no matter how tight.
That ass is an impossibility.
Unless the pants were specifically designed to do that.

Or maybe she's not wearing pants. Maybe they just painted over her skin with some sort of... latex paint, I guess?
It's the future, pants can totally do that

If the modding tool in SC2 is powerful enough, we might see this in some form as a custom map in SC2.
pretty much, yeah.

Great! Now that they make 2 billion a year from WOW subscriptions alone, they can hire the people they need to get back to work on it! /sarcasm

Maybe Blizzard will stop only caring about its money in hell.

"Starcraft:Ghost" is like this decade's "Duke Nukem Forever". It had way too much hype for something that was 99% certain to simply be derivative of other better games and cashing in on the franchise name.

But the hardcore believers will not give up on it, regardless of the fact that nobody's ever gotten their hands on it to PLAY it and figure out if it was any good or not.

Yes, because all market models should completely remove creativity, innovation and risk because those three things hurt sales, product movement and label saturation... right?

*rolleyes*

From how slowly WoW "evolves", they don't need to cancel anything in order to continue it's development. And besides, there are MILLIONS playing WoW non-stop, that must mean they're totally into what's already there.

Blizzard should think about their other fans as well, I'm personally not a WoW hater, just not into that sort of thing, but there have been absolutely no games in the SC universe apart SC and SC2 which are like 12 years apart ...

SC being my all time favorite RTS :(.

Edit: But hey, at least the SC2 single player didn't disappoint, haven't tried BNet yet but it sucks hard that they removed all possibility of LAN ... the cash-hungry whores. (They only did it to get more cash out of the Korean televised matches, because the "pirates" will eventually find a way to emulate the new BNet just as they did with the first, so it's just an inconvenience for them)
