Blizzard Up For a StarCraft Movie With James Cameron

There's already a Starcraft movie out, called Aliens Versus Predators, go watch that and just imagine humans = terran, Predator = Protoss, and Xenomorphs = Zerg, hey look, even the names nearly fit!

I have to agree with ya there. Let Cameron direct it but definitely need someone else on the screenplay with a bamboo reed to slap at Cameron's hands if he feels the need for changes.
Frankly Blizzard's own staff has been doing spectacular work with cinematics. Just need a good writer. Hmmm...

At least with the WoW movie and Sam Raimi, its in capable hands.

But Cameron? My god... his last good movie was Terminator 2 to me, everything else felt tired and rehashed, oh look aliens, lets get that chick to fight them again for the 5th time in a hundred years instead of doing it on our own.

Oh fuck no. I hate James Cameron. Avatar was a shit movie being over hyped and earning way more than a movie should for something that's only selling point is 3d. Not to mention they're bringing it back with 8 extra minutes, just to cash it in further.

Your rant is understandable. I thought Avatar was ok, it had good effects but the story was so cliche and boring. You knew what was going to happen and so you were sat there for two hours waiting for the big battle. However, Cameron directed Alien and Aliens, and they are awesome. But I would NOT be happy if he directed the Starcraft movie, if there were to be one

effects good. generally visuals good. storyline....please just simply take what's already there. If the SC movie tries to expand with a movie in his hands It better be 100% led by the Blizzard writers so the story line isn't gimped

Eh, he certainly isn't a bad movie maker, and anyone who IS saying that is just being stupid. The actually cinematography in Avatar was great, just the plot and characters sucked, but I get the feeling he didn't really care about either of those for this movie.

I still probably wouldn't see it though.

Ever since I saw "Hitman the movie" I realized that there is no way to make a movie based on a video game good, ever, for any reason, therefore I simply don't care.

Cameron hasn't made a good movie since Titanic, if you don't agree with Titanic you have to go even further back to 1994 with True Lies and even that wasn't that good.

I disapprove of the choice of James Cameron.

If there is a movie on Starcraft, I don't want it to be just eye-candy, I want a good script and decent acting in it as well.

But what the hell do the money-makers care. Either way its gonna rake in the millions.

I'll admit Cameron doesn't fit Starcrafts Aesthetic at all, which is a punk space western more then anything else. Ships are ramshackle and battlescarred, planets are dusty and inhospitable, and lets not forget THE CONFERDACY.

I'm not sure how you'd turn that string of missions into a story though.

As long as Mister Cameron doesn't have any say over the plot, sure. He can make it big, showy, and badass and Blizzard can ensure that the story doesn't completely suck!

To be fair, when I first heard of this idea, I was extremely excited. I've just been trying to think about it more logically than just... ultra fanboyism.
