A bungie MMO? News to me... Halo I presume? Hmm that could be pretty cool Covenant vs. Human (Alliance vs. Horde) with the good 'ol WoW style bosses? That would make me a very happy fanboy of both companys :)
No more Halo. They're tired of Halo. At least NOW no one can complain about Bungie milking.

I really hope Bungie doesnt fall to MMO level of game design. I have seen WoW being likened to an addiction curve for gaming trends. I would like to see what Bungie can do when they arent milking Halo for Microsoft.

lolz its all about the Benjamins they can careless about a 'Good' game. Just look at their last 4 Halos. If it aint broke, dont fix it is the mentality most of these HUGE companies have now. Which is sad :(
I didn't play all the halo yet, but what is wrong with if it is not broken don't fix it... It isn't broken why fix it?
There's some quote butchery right there. Ouch.

Well, there's nothing wrong with Halo...except that the entire series has been stuck on repeat since Day 1.
It's largely gotten shinier, rather than significantly better. At least the Unreal and Quake series dramatically improved on the technical efficiency and design space of their games; until Reach, the design space for Halos 1-3 (and ODST) might as well have been kept in a tiny box.

Combine that with the side effect that Halo had on the industry (everyone copied it to some degree; it made consoles more profitable than PC creating a point of favoritism that didn't exist before), and other promising avenues for the shooter were eliminated because they were deemed "risky" or "inferior".

Now, all of this makes perfect economic and business sense; don't get me wrong.
But there's something wrong with taking ALL the fun/risk out of making games just to replace it with souless profit machines.
Then again, the same can be said of music, movies, and TV. So what the hell do I know?

Aww, I believe this should go under the TvTropes Crowning Moment Of Heartwarming page.
I believe you should do the honors.

Also, Blizzard just gained massive Respect Points from me.

As many already have said: Not gonna happen. :/

But what many haven't said: It would be illegal for Bungie to make any kind of Halo-related game with Activision, as it is Microsoft that owns the rights to Halo.

There we go. [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Heartwarming/RealLife]
I just realized I should not have directly linked to TVTropes, now everyone will be forever lost
in a sea of Trope.

What have I done?

Damn, I was hoping this to be the other way round, as in a Blizzard FPS... [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/StarCraft:_Ghost]
Wasn't Ghost meant to be a Third person shooter?

Bungie can't make another halo game because microsoft owns it so thats a no go. But considering that halo has lasted a decade and it "revolutionized" the FPS genre I have no doubt that a combination of Bungie, Activision, and Blizzard would result in some pretty awesome gaming. I would like to see the next thing bungie is working on though.

...People never learn, do they?

Unlike its real-time strategy predecessor StarCraft, Ghost is a third-person shooter, and was intended to give players a closer and more personal view of the StarCraft universe.
On topic, while it's nice of Blizzard to offer Bungie help, I get the feeling that Bungie will not take them up on that offer. I think there is too much pride at stake.

D'aaaw. Blizzard gets brownie points for publicly expressing willingness to erode their own market share.
nah it's all just part of the "we're good guys" act

funny thing is there is a very strong rumor in WoW circles that Blizzards secret new MMO franchise is a console based shooter MMO which is almost exactly what you'd expect Bungie to make...
Absolutely nobody outside of Blizzard's walls knows what Blizzard's next-gen MMO is. All rumors are just that, rumors.

I'm hoping for World of Jersey Shorecraft.
